Jaime understands the importance of taking into account what developmental stage your teen is currently in and thus, services will be tailored to each specific adolescent ’s developmental stage.
People come to counseling for many different reasons. Jaime believes there is no one size fits all solution. I work with you to find what is going to be the best option for the goals you have for your, or your child's, life. Jaime believes all individuals have within them the tools to make change in their lives. Life, irrational beliefs, trauma and problematic behaviors can all get in the way of an individual’s ability to access what they have within them to make the changes needed to feel more fulfilled in their lives. This is where counseling comes in, helping to clear the obstacles in the way leading you to a happier feeling life

I specialize in mental health and wellness, relationship and couples counseling, life transitions, individual counseling, and adolescent and family therapy.
Sometimes life has a way of challenging you to your core. Relationships, parenting, self care, balancing work and career, can all be almost too much to maintain at times. If you are seeking the tools and support to make positive change and learn more about yourself, your capacity, and self growth, I am here to help walk along side you in that journey. Reaching out to begin the counseling process can feel overwhelming and even intimidating, but working to build trust and rapport and meeting each client where they are in their life is my goal to help ease the process and make way for welcoming change.

Whether you are a first responder with too many hard experiences, someone worn out by daily life and changes, or a teenager trying to find your way, I am here to act as your guide to healthier days.
Life can be so difficult. Maybe emotions and life issues have built up to the point that you can't sleep or eat normally. You may feel like you just can't cope any longer. Or, you might feel like life has become so devoid of meaning that the colors have all faded. You may be using unhealthy ways of coping with old injuries or new life difficulties. Whether you are feeling unhappy, hurt, stressed out , angry or afraid, these feelings can keep you from a happy life or healthy relationships. We can work together to help you understand what is happening and create positive changes for a happier, healthier life.

Evening Appointments Available - It can be heartbreaking to see your child/ teen struggling, and when they are struggling with such overwhelming emotions as depression, anxiety, anger, etc. we can feel so helpless. However, you and your child are not alone, and you've made it this far, which says a lot! I would love to partner with your family to add support, and offer a space for your child/ teen to sort through all of those overwhelming emotions, and behaviors that can accompany those emotions. Sometimes a little extra, professional support, and a well thought out path for how to get to a better place can make a big difference.

My ideal client is a teen , adult or couple who is self aware, motivated, and is either curious or committed to doing the work necessary to start their healing journey. They may be someone who has learned a behavior to cope with trauma, like substance use or an eating disorder for example, and are discovering that tool is no longer serving them. Perhaps they notice the way they have been living is in alignment with someone else's values rather than their own. My goal as a therapist is to bring to their attention ideas and feedback that provides a new perspective that guides my clients to a more empowered way of life.

If you have struggled with friendships, romantic relationships, or coworkers in the past and just want to learn how to connect with people on a deeper level, I can help. As a former high school math teacher, I have lots of experience, and work well, with teens, specifically those struggling with issues related to anxiety, self-esteem, or identity concerns.

Teen Therapists
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
