Hi, I'm Kayla! I have graciously provided psychotherapy for trauma survivors for almost two decades. I've led mindfulness-based workshops and group therapies, including comprehensive DBT programming. I also supervise aspiring clinicians and provide consultation to licensed professionals around complex clinical cases/assessment. I've gained invaluable experience from the stories I've humbly witnessed, cultivating a therapeutic approach that balances acceptance and the invitation for change. I hold a compassionate, strength-based perspective that not only builds the therapeutic alliance, but lifts up the meaning behind this work.

Do you feel like your brain can't slow down, no matter how hard you try? Maybe you’re constantly overthinking, struggling to focus, feeling anxious for no clear reason, or watching your child become overwhelmed, reactive, or shut down. This might not be a lack of insight—it may be a dysregulated nervous system. I specialize in working with kids and adults dealing with stressors like anxiety, ADHD, depression, sleep issues, focus challenges, etc, using a brain-based approach called Neurofeedback. This goes beyond traditional talk therapy to help your brain and body actually learn new, individualized, more effective patterns.

Hello and welcome! I am so glad you're here. The human journey is inevitably messy at times. Despite the chaotic and confusing, there is always beauty to be discovered. I believe every individual is deserving of connection, compassion, pleasure, and healing - even you! Often, shame can stand in the way, leaving us feeling stuck or unworthy. My work is rooted in the belief that healing doesn’t mean fixing what’s broken - it’s about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that have been hidden or silenced, reclaiming and liberating yourself, and showing up in your community with vulnerability and love.

Discovering unknown aspects of ourselves can feel risky. I respect your healing process and the courage it takes to engage in therapeutic work. I believe we hold trauma in both our body and our unconscious. Trauma can often lead us to doing, saying, and feeling things that seem inexplicable. Exploration and integration of traumatic material can lead to deeper, long-term healing and growth.

I am an addictions and relationship counselor, and I am certified in Brainspotting.
Relationships are hard work, and some days are much more overwhelming than others. When we don't feel like we are getting along with ourselves or with our loved ones, we sometimes choose to yell, scream, walk away, or freeze up. Sometimes we drink or take something else. I believe that our relationships are vital and that when we don't feel like they are going well, it can ruin our day or make us anxious. You deserve to feel comfortable with yourself and with your relationships, and exploring unhelpful patterns can start you on a different path.

Brainspotting, somatic practices, and parts-informed work support lasting change through safety and collaboration.
Healing happens in the presence of safety, attunement, and genuine human connection. For nearly two decades, I’ve supported adults navigating anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, and emotional and relational patterns. I also work with adults with ADHD and other neurodivergent traits, offering support with overwhelm, emotional regulation, and self compassion. My style is warm, steady, and intuitive. I listen closely to your nervous system and inner world, allowing therapy to unfold at a pace that feels respectful and sustainable, so you don’t have to hold everything alone or push yourself to heal faster than you’re ready.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
