Life happens, as they say & as we all know, sometimes life can be completely overwhelming. It can strain our ability to cope, recover & find meaning in hardship, particularly when our experiences are traumatic. Whether it's one event or experiences that began early & often, it can be even more overwhelming when it feels like we don't have reliable support from others who are able & willing to walk alongside us as we try & make sense of everything. When this happens, these experiences follow & shape us for weeks & even years making it so hard to move forward meaningfully, let alone to heal & grow - something we long for most.

You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself, like something inside has gone quiet or out of reach. You might be carrying trauma, chronic illness, grief, or the weight of holding everything together while losing touch with your own needs. You may have tried therapy before and found it helpful in some ways, yet not quite reaching the depth you were longing for. Perhaps the work stayed at the level of understanding, but didn’t fully touch what lives deeper. There may be parts of you that still feel unseen, or difficult to access through words alone, leaving a sense that something important remains just out of reach.

Psychotherapy is for everyone. We all have challenges that we face that we just can’t overcome on our own. Feeling stuck is completely normal and completely fine. Everyone feels stuck, and we can always ask for help getting unstuck. Sometimes it’s more though. Sometimes things fall apart and we don’t even know how to ask for help. That is normal too. Everything we experience is normal. And that means we can always heal. Regardless of where you are on this spectrum, therapy IS for you. Whether you are seeking Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy or traditional talk therapy, I’m here and ready to help. Let’s get started. You deserve this.

I think it is important to understand how my client’s values and personal background affect the choices they make in their daily lives, and how those choices support them or prevent them from reaching their goals. The techniques I use can include assessment, exploring emotions, self-esteem work, looking at a situation from all angles, identifying past trauma, and active listening. I want my clients to feel confident and supported during therapy, and I hope that my sessions will provide a safe space where they can share openly and work towards their goals.

More and more people are having trouble knowing who they are or where they belong in life. What we were taught growing up, or what we learned from society, doesn't make sense or apply any longer. Because of this, we have difficulties, from depression to questioning our own belief system. It may appear as confusion, anxiety, anger, or anything that disrupts our day-to-day life. When we feel this way, it is a hurt or loss that is almost impossible to describe. My type of counseling offers people the opportunity to understand why and how they think and feel the way they do, and to go deeper than they could have imagined.

Therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain clarity, and develop tools to better understand your emotions, strengthen relationships, and feel more grounded and in control of your life.

Many of my clients feel stuck in survival mode—overwhelmed by anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, chronic illness, burnout, or relationship patterns they can’t seem to break. They may struggle with perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, insomnia, fatigue, digestive or immune system issues, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others. Together, we work to understand how past experiences and nervous system patterns are shaping the present so healing can feel deeper, safer, and more lasting.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Therapists
When should someone seek treatment for a traumatic brain injury?
People should seek a diagnosis and treatment after a head injury, especially if they were unconscious, and an early diagnosis can lead to a better recovery. Signs of a concussion include headaches, nausea or vomiting, exhaustion, dizziness, vision problems, sensitivity to light and sound, problems with attention and memory, brain fog, unusual irritability or sadness, and unusual sleep patterns.

What’s the most common treatment for a traumatic brain injury?
Treatment for a traumatic brain injury will be different depending on the severity of the problem. For mild injuries, treatment may involve rest and over-the-counter pain or headache medication. For moderate or severe injuries, treatment may involve stabilization, medication, and rehabilitative therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive therapy, and counseling.

How long does it take to recover from traumatic brain injury?
The recovery time for a traumatic brain injury depends on the individual and the severity and nature of the injury; the length of time spent unconscious is often an indicator of severity. Recovery time for mild injuries may be a week or two while recovery time for more severe injuries may be six months to two years. Research suggests that the vast majority of recovery occurs in the first two years after an injury; recovery after that time frame is less certain.

What if a traumatic brain injury is left untreated?
If a traumatic brain injury is left untreated, it can lead to long-term physical and mental health problems. Physical problems may include dizziness, headaches, vision, healing, or speech loss, and an elevated risk of dementia. Psychological problems may include impairments of memory, judgment, and decision-making, depression, aggression, poor impulse control, and personality changes.
