As a therapist, my goal is not to fix, change or solve, but rather to empower, enlighten and support you on your journey to achieve your goals. I believe in creating a comfortable and non-judgemental safe space that fosters collaborations and personal growth. Seeking therapy can be difficult, but you don’t have to go through it alone. I utilize a person-centered approach, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and DBT with other therapeutic techniques to assist in gaining insight, self empowerment and personal growth.

Trapped inside a life of depression and anxiety that doesn’t seem to have any escape? You find that your energy and motivation for life has diminished. You feel isolated and alone even though you have family and friends close to you. The voice you thought you had seems as though no one really hears it. You feel as though you are being ignored. Wanting to emerge from this life of torment as an empowered hopeful person is now your priority. The question is, where do you start in order to achieve this feat?

For many, staying alive is an act of immense strength. As a clinician with experience supporting those who live with chronic suicidal thoughts, I’m here to walk alongside you and help you build tools that support your well-being—on your terms. If you’re carrying thoughts of not wanting to live, it doesn’t mean you’re broken—it means you’re hurting. I also work with survivors of profound trauma, including interpersonal violence, trafficking, and identity-based harm. More importantly, I work with those who want to go from "surviving" to "thriving". This is a space where all parts of you, including the darkest thoughts, are welcome.

Dealing with trauma and past hurts, struggling with work, relationships, or addiction, managing depression & anxiety or to better understand one's gender identity or sexuality - it isn't easy to address any of these things. I see therapy as a safe, judgment-free, shame-free, and confidential space, where you are free to vent, confide, cry, discuss, imagine, find strength, and be empowered. Most importantly, therapy is a place for hope to come alive, to learn new coping skills, to achieve personal growth, and to discover you are strong, valuable, and greater than any struggle you might have. Change is possible!

Do you feel like your family is living in chaos? Is your child or teen struggling with school? Peers? With anxiety? I offer a strength-based and collaborative approach while working with children, teens, adults, and families. I would be honored to help you and your family learn the tools to make and maintain the changes needed to live the life you want to live. Although many therapists, including myself have a reduced fee, services are still not financially accessible for many families. I supervise Master's level interns with a sliding scale between $65-$25 per session. Everyone should be able to access mental health care.

There are times in life when difficulties feel insurmountable, and all you really need is to be heard. Sometimes the complexities of contemporary living present problems that get in the way of who and how we want to be. I can help you understand the obstacles that are undermining your happiness, and to trust again in your own intuition to discover the strengths that are already there within you. While we can't change situations of the past or the family's we were born into, there is potential here for you to better understand how your past experiences and/or current challenges are interfering with your ability to enjoy life fully.

At Grass Roots Healing, I believe that true healing begins at the root. To reconnect with yourself and create meaningful change, we first explore where challenges originate—often deep in your personal history—and then work from the inside out. Just like a tree, strong roots support beautiful growth: therapy is about rebuilding the foundation from which you view your life, so you can create beliefs, behaviors, and a life that align with your authentic self.

Dissociative Disorders (DID) Therapists
How does therapy for dissociative disorders work?
Dissociation may be triggered by stress or other upsetting circumstances, and therapy can address the traumatic events at the core of an individual’s dissociation. Understanding why a person may dissociate can help the therapist and the individual come up with alternative methods of coping. A person with a dissociative disorder may get stuck on negative thinking, for example, and treatment like Cognitive behavioral therapy is a gold standard for breaking such thinking. And dialectical behavior therapy, for example, can help a person manage their anguish through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for dissociative disorders?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, schema therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful memories and past traumas. These therapies work to integrate an individual's different identities into one person.

Are there specific medications for dissociation?
There are no specific medications prescribed for dissociative disorders. However, psychosis, depression, anxiety, and/or panic often co-occur in dissociative disorders. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for any accompanying symptom—which may include antipsychotics like aripiprazole, antidepressants like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or anti-anxiety drugs like benzodiazepines.

How often and how long are therapy sessions?
Like any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. There are still other patients, especially those who have co-occurring conditions like depression and anxiety, who may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months.
