She empowers them by using psychoeducation to help them discover the coping skills they already possess, and learn new ones to add to their toolbox.
Jordyn knows that asking for help can be intimidating, and that you may feel anxious, unsure, and vulnerable when first beginning the therapy process. That's why she will offer you a comfortable, calm space to feel heard and supported. She'll share her sense of humor when appropriate to help ease any tension you feel. She'll partner with you as you work through whatever life has thrown your way. Jordyn can help adolescents and adults to overcome anxiety, depression, insecurities, grief, relationship issues, and much more.

I am passionate about helping teens and adults through any of the difficulties that life throws at them; anxiety, depression, disordered eating, ADHD, grief, or even life transitions.
Care and support are essential for living a full life, but support can present itself in many ways. Maybe you are seeking better coping skills, the resources to develop better boundaries or deal with conflict in a healthier way, or maybe you are simply seeking someone to listen and allow you the space to grow into the person that you want to be. I work with each client with the understanding that they have their own struggles and own way of needing support so that they can begin their journey to health and happiness. My approach is strengths-based, integrative, and inclusive.

I offer individual psychotherapy sessions with specializations in anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders as well as ADHD.
I am a psychologist candidate currently working toward licensure. I am a firm believer that one approach does not fit every client or even a client in every session. Whether it’s tapping into a client’s strengths, connecting the past to the present, taking a journey for healing from childhood, or learning how to be mindful of mind and body wherever one is and for or under any circumstance. Seldom is there one root for any life event we engage in or experience and meeting a client where they are at in their life, knowing they are the expert on their life, is what matters.

If you wonder if your child has ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, or another learning disability, we can help with expert testing. Or if your child shows signs of giftedness and you want to enroll them in a gifted program or school, we provide IQ testing to help with this.

I am an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider from Evergreen and a board-certified practitioner who has worked across the states in various communities. I have worked with all aspects of care, from mental health to chronic care. I attribute a lot of my "patient-centered care" to the diverse patient population set I have served. This diversity, as I state, "has made way for understanding how similar we are as individuals and communities, as well as understanding the intricate differences we each have." Patients should be heard, educated on all aspect of their concerns, and be able to make a well-informed decision on their care.

Most of my clients are seeking help with trauma, adult ADHD, and all the related problems - depression, anxiety, relationship and work problems, etc.
Most of us have secrets – some from years old wounds or and trauma. Secrets can feel like a shield, protecting us from judgment and shame. In reality, the memories can weigh you down with fear, anxiety, and even depression. What if you could share your secrets with someone who listens to understand? Someone who validates your feelings and experiences without judgment? Brené Brown says the antidote to shame is empathy. Sharing your secrets can be incredibly healing. It can lead to more self-acceptance and courage. I can help you release the secrets that burden you.

Many of my clients say they feel stuck. Others say they are lacking inspiration, are tired of pervasive anxiety, sadness, stress and guilt; they just want peace. As an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, I compassionately, yet directly support my Adult clients by looking at choices, thought patterns, strengths and weaknesses, while also identifying new coping tools. I have extensive experience in complex family dynamics, ADHD and HSPs. All these factors inevitably influence our sense of self-worth & how we show up in life & relationships. I'd love to help untangle and demystify why we KNOW better, but struggle to DO better.

I focus on anxiety, mindfulness, depression, relationship issues, ADHD, and intergenerational/familial trauma. My specialization focuses on Trauma-Informed Practices and the treatment of Trauma-Focused disorders. While I recognize that being in relationship with ourselves, or with others might feel draining or challenging, it certainly doesn’t have to remain that way.

Are you feeling disconnected from yourself or your relationship? I can help! I enjoy working with and empowering adolescents, couples, and the elderly to overcome obstacles and process through trauma that impacts growth. I also use qEEG Neurofeedback to address the struggles associated with ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, autism, and behavioral issues in children and adults. Neurofeedback is a non-invasive treatment modality and changes are noticed faster than with a pharmacological approach.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
