Stress, trauma, anxiety, self-defeating thoughts or depression can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to live.
As a board-certified clinical and prescribing psychologist with more than 16 years of experience, I utilize evidence-based psychotherapy and work alongside you—not as an expert telling you what to do, but as a partner working with and helping you to understand your patterns, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

I am originally from the UK where I worked with children and young adults in the foster care system who had experienced complex trauma, alongside supporting their carers.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and strength-based, recognizing each person's journey as unique and so adapting my style to work on the individual's need. I most commonly use DBT as a therapeutic tool, along with trauma-informed practice, positive psychology, mindfulness, art-based interventions, and family systems.

Over 10 years experience in treating PTSD/ trauma (2015) with EMDR.
Quality treatment gets expensive. I offer some unique ways to bring down the costs, such as a significant prepaid discount and shorter or less expensive sessions available during harder-to-fill times in my schedule (usually mid-day). Shorter sessions are ideal for homework follow-up while doing ERP for OCD and CBIT for Tics. I have experience specializing in mutliple diagnoses and have worked with clients from 2 to 98 years old. If you are facing complex issues and have struggled with finding effective treatment in the past, let's talk! It may be that your effort has been enough, but the treatment or pace was not the right fit.

Do you ever find yourself questioning if there is more to life, going through a life transition, or simply not feeling quite like yourself? You are not alone. These feelings are a natural part of being human, and there are times when we all need some extra support in our lives. I firmly believe that healing is attainable for those who have the desire, the necessary support, and the willingness to actively engage in their path towards well-being. Life presents us with various chances to explore ourselves and evolve through our encounters.

My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-responsive practices including Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and tools from my training as a meditation and yoga instructor.
Life inevitably brings both challenges and opportunities for growth. In the face of difficulty, it’s common to feel overwhelmed or stuck. Taking time to check in with yourself—and engage in the reflective, goal-oriented process of therapy—can help you reconnect with your strengths and resilience. In my work, I support clients in identifying and clarifying their therapeutic goals, and in moving toward them step by step. I believe mental health is a vital part of overall wellness, and that small, intentional efforts each day can nurture our capacity for contentment and balance.

It fosters creativity that may have been lost in "growing up", self-exploration, emotional release, and can enable humans to process trauma non-verbally; reducing stress and pressure to build resilience and insight.
You are good inside. No matter your experiences, strengths, needs, and goals. And maybe you want to expand on this goodness, or potentially you have things that need to be addressed. Sometimes it can feel like there are endless walls, whether that be navigating difficulties in our daily lives, moving through life transitions, or the same overwhelming thoughts that pattern our experiences. These can all impact our ability to have meaningful relationships, and it can be difficult to identify the source of the struggle or understand why it feels this way, especially when we are feeling overwhelmed and alone.

My work focuses on a variety of issues: addiction, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and gender identity, just to name a few.
Starting therapy is similar to starting with a new doctor. My initial meeting is used to gather information about your history, determine what you believe the problem is, and help you identify your short- and long-term goals.

Sometimes it’s trauma.
I enjoy working with couples. I just find the nuance of how two people figure out how to go through life together fascinating. It’s a set up from the beginning because one’s sexual partner is also one’s financial partner. Tension in one area will naturally boil over into other areas. And then it’s on.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
