Health First Colorado Therapists in Wellington, CO
I work with outdoor athletes and outdoorsy individuals who are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, disordered eating, and/or trauma. Many of my clients feel stuck in cycles of pressure, self-criticism, or trying to “get it right” with food, movement, or appearance while feeling disconnected from themselves. Therapy with me is a space to slow that down, step out of that pressure, and begin reconnecting with yourself in a more grounded and sustainable way. Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, we get curious about what your patterns are protecting or responding to, and pull the weeds in the garden of you.

Relationships, pregnancy, and motherhood can bring incredible joy, but they can also bring anxiety, overwhelm, relationship stress, and feelings you never expected. Whether you're struggling with postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, adjusting to motherhood, or feeling disconnected from your partner or yourself, you don't have to go through it alone.
Together, we'll create a safe place to understand what's happening, strengthen your relationships, and help you feel more grounded, confident, and like yourself again. My goal is to help you move from simply surviving to feeling more connected, present, and hopeful.

I do my best work with people ages 5 and up who feel like they're supposed to "have it together" but secretly don't. Those who are dealing with anxiety, ADHD, OCD, school stress, or big life transitions. They're looking for a place where they can be honest, feel understood, and not worry about being perfect. As someone who took a nontraditional path myself, I get what it's like to feel lost or overwhelmed in this big world. My ideal client wants support, real connection and tools that help them feel more confident being who they are.

My ideal clients are individuals (children/adults), parents, and caregivers who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may have been shaped by trauma or stress. You may want to break cycles in your family, strengthen the bond with your child, process painful experiences, or feel more confident and grounded in your role as a parent. Sometimes clients come in feeling stuck or discouraged—and sometimes they come in simply hoping for a space where they can be real, imperfect humans without judgment.

Most of my clients felt stuck when we met - they've read the books, learned the coping skills, practiced mindfulness, but still struggled in feeling safe navigating through the world. Trauma disrupts our ability to connect, either to ourselves or other people and we can need guidance and compassion to heal. My hope as your therapist is to be a safe place to explore yourself and to truly feel better.
I love working with individuals or couples impacted by trauma in any of it's forms, people with neurodiversity, especially those diagnosed as adults, and am deeply passionate about supporting my fellow folks in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Melissa specializes in helping adults navigate the two areas that shape their lives most: careers and relationships. Many of her clients describe feeling “stuck,” overwhelmed by change, or caught in cycles of overthinking… even when life looks objectively fine from the outside. Her ideal client may wonder if things are “bad enough” for therapy, yet they are navigating big life transitions and want a thoughtful, focused space to explore what these changes mean for them.

The way I work with clients reflects what I would want for myself if I were in the other chair. You won’t get canned responses or clinical language that feels hollow. I’m not here to act like a blank slate—I’m a human working with another human. My goal is to create a space that’s real, warm, and grounded in genuine connection.
If I see you stuck in patterns that are hurting you, I’ll call it out—with compassion, not judgment. I won’t sugarcoat things, but I also won’t leave you alone in them. My intention is always to help you pause, reflect, and consider a different path—one that feels more aligned with who you are.

Imagine you have had the same problem or behavior recurring throughout your life for months, perhaps years. This could be anything: managing emotions, accepting how traumatic events shaped your life, addiction, conflict, how other people treat you/how you treat others, or simply taking ownership. Envision your goal as changing the situation, flipping the script on your life, and finding lasting change. I want to help people who want to learn why things are the way they are, embrace new skills, and use tools to manage their lives by examining belief patterns, chronic stressors, and lifestyle factors to stimulate emotional growth.

The clients I work with tend to feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from carrying too much for too long. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, self-doubt, relationship stress, or life transitions, and often feel unsure where to turn. They want relief, clarity, and a safe space to be heard without judgment. Most of all, they want support in understanding themselves, breaking unhelpful patterns, and moving toward a life that feels calmer, more balanced, and meaningful.
