Sleep or Insomnia Therapists in Timnath, CO
As of 6/9, I am accepting new clients! I support adults (18+) in healing trauma, building emotional stability, and creating a life that truly feels like their own. I specialize in working with those impacted by relational conflict, cultural expectations, religion or spirituality, and the weight of work or responsibility. Many of the people I work with are the ones everyone else leans on - competent, capable, and dependable - yet privately overwhelmed and second-guessing themselves. Healing is possible. And, It doesn’t require you to abandon yourself - it invites you to come home to yourself.

If you are ready to do the work, bring me your specific challenges: sleep problems, hyper-independence, anxiety, catastrophization, and perfectionism.
I am a licensed professional counselor specializing in solution-focused, action-oriented Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My practice is built on the belief that true change requires stepping outside of your comfort zone and expanding your capacity to tolerate distress and discomfort. I am not the therapist for everyone. My most successful clients are those who show up ready for deep self-analysis and the hard work of personal growth. We will expand your capacity for distress tolerance so you can feel the discomfort and choose your response anyway. In this practice, we will consistently prioritize courage over comfort.

My clients are women who have given everything to build a life that looks whole from the outside — and who still sense that something essential is missing. And maybe that's you. You've poured yourself into your work, held everything together, and shown up for everyone around you — and still, something is missing. Perhaps a quiet ache, or something louder you can no longer ignore. Either way, you're not failing — you're at the threshold of a breakthrough. From the outside, everything looks fine. But privately, you're questioning things you've never allowed yourself to question. You're ready for something more.

Help has been put off for awhile… You have "family issues” and often times feel so alone. Racing heart beat, everything feeling like it’s closing in, feelings of panic are all too common. How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
