My ideal clients are adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship concerns, grief, or life transitions. Many come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected and are seeking a safe space to better understand themselves and move forward. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and strive to provide a warm, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental environment. Together, we identify goals and patterns contributing to distress, build coping skills, process difficult experiences, and foster meaningful, lasting change.

Life can be tough and along the way we make adaptations to do our best to survive. We are always doing the best we know how, with what we have. However, sometimes those adaptations no longer serve us and possibly even harm us. I work with patients to work through these adaptations to have a richer, freer life.

Many of the clients I work with recognize the soul, even if they call it something else like spirit or Self, or inner knowing. Regardless of what we call it, when we lose touch with it, you can feel like part of you is missing. Like there's a more adventurous, more alive version of yourself waiting just beneath the surface, or like some part of you knows this isn't the life you came here to live. Maybe it shows up as a nagging feeling, a pattern that keeps repeating, dreams that won't let go, or a longing you can't quite name. I work with people at these crossroads.

Something feels stuck — anxiety that won't end, a depression that dulls everything, or a weight from the past you can't seem to set down. Maybe you find yourself repeating patterns in relationships, work, or your own life that you understand intellectually but can't seem to change. I work with adults who are ready to look honestly at what's underneath. Together, we explore the patterns and past experiences shaping your present, while finding ways to make life feel more manageable and meaningful.

Schedule online instantly through my website link in my bio! Hi. I'm Jamie. I’m smart, quirky, and a deep feeler. I’ll notice things about you that most people don’t and I’ll point at things that most people won’t. I’ll meet you with a depth of presence that’s rare in this world, and I’ll create lots of space for what’s true for you to emerge. I love models and frames and theories and will share bits and pieces with you that might help you see outside of the cages you feel stuck in. Concerns I work with most often are disordered eating, social anxiety, and sexuality.

In addition to psychotherapy, I offer clinical consultation in relational psychoanalytic and eating disorders treatment.
My experience is that many challenges we encounter are based on habits/patterns, which at one point may have felt necessary. Frequently, these ways of feeling and behaving are automatic, not within conscious awareness and not fully understood. My role is to facilitate curiosity of these repetitive cycles and work through the obstacles that interfere with leading the fullest, most creative life one desires. Part of therapy is co creating a narrative and ultimately becoming the author of one’s story. A trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship is the foundation to begin this exploration. A dose of humor can help in the process.

Seeking care can be a daunting experience, from trusting your instincts around whether it feels like the right match, to believing in your own capacity to grow and heal. I see my role as providing a reliable and consistent space where my patients can grow freer to think about their lives in ways that may have previously felt out of reach. A foundational goal of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy is the cultivation of curiosity into how your mind works, how you relate to your own emotions, and how patterns in your life are obstructing your ability to work, love, play, and make meaning.

Do you feel like you've tried everything and you still feel STUCK? You've done the shadow work, the journaling, medication, positive thinking, the mindset shifts, and the daily affirmations but nothing seems to truly CHANGE? It can lead to resignation or hopelessness if left unchecked. I am a trauma-informed therapist. My approach is a combination of body-based attunement (because the body is where trauma is stored, not the mind), and I specialize in teaching you how to rewiring old patterns from childhood attachment wounds, and using neuroplasticity to create the life and peace you crave. You will never feel like just a number.

My approach is grounded in the belief that each person carries an inner compass guiding them toward wholeness—even in the midst of confusion, grief, or overwhelm. In therapy, I work relationally, attending to how attachment, culture, and nervous system states shape our experience. My style is warm, attuned, and down-to-earth, offering curiosity, creativity, and gentle challenge when helpful. I draw from depth psychology/Jungian frameworks, EMDR, polyvagal theory, expressive arts therapies, attachment theory, somatic awareness, and dreamwork.

Psychoanalytic Therapists
Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
