Thanks for stopping by my profile! I enjoy working with folks who are fellow nerds, fellow queer people, and people who have survived trauma. I particularly enjoy working with people who have never done counseling before. I strive to make working with me feel as little as work, as possible, without sacrificing the hard work it takes to become a more healed version of ourselves. I blend an affable personality, a great sense of humor (I think I’m hilarious), and solid clinical skills into the work I do. Whatever you’re struggling with, I want to help.

I offer relational, psychodynamic therapy for individuals and communities, integrating trauma-informed, attachment-based, IFS, trauma-focused CBT, and multisystemic approaches.
My ideal client is navigating the tension between who they are and who they have learned to be in order to survive. They may be working through trauma, identity development, relational patterns, burnout, or the impact of systemic and intergenerational harm. They are seeking clarity, relief, and a relational process where healing is co-created, stories are honored, and individuals and families can move toward lives more aligned with their values.

Hello, I'm Kelly. My passion lies in helping individuals discover and appreciate their inherent worth, even when faced with life's challenges. I chose to stay in my rural, economically challenged part of Colorado to give back to the community that raised me. Growing up with both of my parents being deaf, I became fluent in American Sign Language, which was my first language. I am married and a proud parent of four children—two of whom are autistic with a PDA profile, and two others with ADHD. My love for animals, books, music, and nature keeps me grounded and connected to the world around me.

Hello. I'm Raina. I'm here to listen deeply and guide you in listening to yourself with curiosity and compassion. Together we will explore the parts of yourself that feel like they are not good enough or are too much - those parts that feel overwhelmed, unmotivated, worried, or numb. We will delve into how those parts got to feeling those ways and -spoiler alert - It is not usually because you have done something wrong or that you are not trying hard enough. My passion is to create an environment where people can be themselves without judgement and access their own profound inner wisdom.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
