Every human being has a true genuine authentic self. Trauma is the disconnection from it and healing is the reconnection to it. - Dr. Gabor Mate
Life is full of beauty and hardship. We all have experiences that shape who we are, how we feel, and what we believe about ourselves. Sometimes we need a brave space to explore and heal our wounds. From young professionals to helping professionals to new moms to folks in the LGBTQ+ community, I invite deep exploration and support clients to develop understanding of how the adversities they've faced impact their minds, bodies, and spirits.

My therapeutic approach includes Somatic Experiencing, IFS, psychodynamic therapy, ketamine-assisted therapy and state legal psilocybin-assisted therapy.
Somatic therapy brings your awareness of your body and nervous system into the process of therapy. As we explore your concerns and challenges we can also begin to notice and track what's happening in the body at the same time. Ketamine-assisted therapy can support further deepening into this work within a safe therapeutic container.

Some of life's dilemmas require a conversation to resolve. A conversation that weaves past and present, fantasy and reality, desire and inhibition to form a detailed understanding of one's life. An understanding that allows us to think decisions through so we can decide what we want and how to go about getting there. This often starts with a stronger ability to say no to what we don’t want, but then transforms into a confidence to say yes to what we do want. Sometimes it’s trauma. Sometimes it’s how we think and feel. Sometimes it’s just putting ourselves last through self-destructive behavior.

My clients are often thoughtful, self-aware people who have spent years trying to cope, push through, overthink, or care for everyone else first. Others come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or like life has simply become too much to carry alone. Either way, together, we create space to explore the deeper patterns underneath anxiety, self-doubt, and overwhelm while building a more grounded and authentic way of living. I work with adults who want more than symptom management alone — many are longing to feel more connected to themselves, their relationships, and the life they're living.

Therapy can also bring fullness and connection into your life. The therapeutic relationship is essential, and it is of primary concern in my work. I dedicate myself to assuring my clients feel safe to do the hard work to heal. If you are unhappy and seeking more from life, I believe I can help.

I work with people who are used to powering through. They handle pressure, keep functioning, and often look fine from the outside, even when they are anxious, burned out, shut down, angry, overwhelmed, or running on fumes. A lot of them have gotten very good at surviving while feeling disconnected from themselves, from other people, and from the life they thought they would be living.
I help people stop white-knuckling their way through life. Therapy with me is not vague, passive, or endlessly circular. It is honest, focused, and built to create real movement.

Do you feel as though you are stuck in a black hole and are hanging on to the side by your fingernails, desperately trying not to be overcome by those feelings? Do you feel as though you can't relax and simply enjoy the moment? Do you feel as though no one understands you and appreciates you for who you are, rather than what you do? If so, I can help you get to a point where you can say what you think in a respectful manner and feel as though you are understood and accepted by those who matter to you. There is no magic pill that will do this. But it is an entirely do-able task.

I support individuals who are trying to find purpose, meaning and hope in a world filled with hurt and pain. Together, we'll explore the old messages and patterns that may be weighing you down, helping you find a deeper understanding of yourself and the people around you. Processing pain can be incredibly difficult. Showing the messy parts of yourself requires remarkable vulnerability. More than anything I hope to create a space where you feel valued, safe and understood.

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
