My work with clients tends to feel like walking alongside them and destigmatizing their thoughts, feelings, and reactions with the science behind the experiences they are having. This perspective shift allows them to switch from feeling broken and stuck to resilent and empowered. My degrees are in Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work allowing me a broad perspective of mental health. I have a background in treatment of trauma, addiction, personality disorders, and mood disorders with people from all backgrounds. I am sex positive and love working with LGBTQ folks and people who live alternative lifestyles.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, whether you’re new to counseling or returning after past experiences. Maybe you already know your goals, or perhaps you just know something needs to change. You might be facing relationship challenges, stress, or uncertainty about what comes next. Therapy is a safe space to slow down, sort through what feels overwhelming, and gain clarity. Together, we’ll explore your needs and create a plan that helps you move toward greater confidence, healthier connections, and a more fulfilling life. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly and feel truly heard. In session

Beginning a therapeutic journey is a process both vulnerable and brave. It is not an easy process, but one of hard-work and growth. I believe as we create our stories, therapy can work as an essential means for self-exploration and development. My passion lies in working with individuals who seek to facilitate healthy relationships in their lives or are working to maneuver or heal from relationships which have caused pain and confusion. In addition, I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, and borderline personality disorder, as well as co-occurring disorders of substance use and mental health diagnoses.

Are you exhausted in a way that sleep doesn’t fix — showing up, delivering, holding everyone together while losing track of yourself? I work with BIPOC individuals and people navigating trauma, burnout, and life transitions who are done surviving and ready to heal. Your pain isn’t a personal failing — it’s the result of carrying too much, often in systems not built for you. Using a warm, direct, and collaborative approach — we rebuild self-trust and strengthen boundaries on your terms. You don’t have to leave any part of yourself at the door here.

Since ancient times, the discipline of philosophy (practiced by the likes of Socrates, Hume, and Khayyam) has been used not just to advance science and politics, but also to heal the human soul. In Philosophy Therapy, we employ hard-earned conceptual distinctions made by philosophical geniuses over the millennia to solve our personal problems and get a better perspective on our own lives. You may be the person who holds everything together for everyone else while quietly feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unseen inside. I create a therapy space that is warm, collaborative, and deeply affirming for people navigating the complexity of identity, burnout, trauma, masking, emotional overwhelm, and the pressure to survive systems that were never designed to hold them fully. Her approach is rooted in the belief that healing is not about becoming someone new, but returning to yourself with more compassion, honesty, and understanding.

Suicidal Ideation Therapists
How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
