Depending on your needs and goals, we may integrate somatic and mindfulness-based therapy, ACT/CBT/DBT skills, attachment-based and person-centered approaches, IFS-informed parts work, trauma-informed care, and EMDR when clinically appropriate, while focusing on the core concerns bringing you in.
You possess an innate strength that has carried you through your darkest moments. While trauma, anxiety, depression, or life’s overwhelming transitions may have clouded your view of that strength, it remains the foundation of your healing. Therapy is not just about "fixing" what feels broken; it is about reclaiming your narrative, honoring your experiences, and building a life that feels authentic and purposeful.

I draw from meaning-centered, attachment, and somatic approaches that help you feel safe, seen, and connected to what truly matters.
Life changed, and suddenly you're facing that lingering question: who am I? I work with people who can't define themselves in new territory, like veterans who leave the service, professionals whose career ends, or someone who spent a lifetime defined by an identity or relationship no longer theirs. You're still functioning, but don't feel like yourself, and you're tired of pretending you do. I spent 20 years in the Air Force and lived plenty of change myself. I understand transition from the inside. You don't need worksheets. You need someone who understands what you're facing and gets straight to it, so you can feel solid again.

As a certified sex and relationship therapist, I often see people struggle to talk about sex, sometimes defining themselves by the challenges they face. But what if we reframed sexual differences—not as obstacles, but as opportunities to explore our capacity for pleasure? When emotional or physical pain makes sex feel unsafe, it can lead to fear of intimacy or avoidance of the conversation altogether. Over time, this can erode pleasure, connection, and a sense of sexual self. You deserve a fulfilling and pleasurable connection with yourself and in your relationships.

Bury it; run from it. Or, stand up for yourself! It's time to breathe again! The storms caused by flawed work/life balance. . .anxiety/depression. . .being a martyr for your children instead of a parent. . .dismal self-image. . .how are you breathing these days? Searching for a therapist that has toiled through their own storms? Would you prefer in-office dialogue over a virtual bobblehead therapist? You will breathe again! Make certain your therapist will remain in the storms with you as your guide and advocate; not a passive clinician who makes the occasional cameo in your journey.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
