You may be carrying more than you let on. I work with adults navigating complex trauma, attachment wounds, dissociation, religious trauma, divorce, neurodivergence, and major life transitions. I also support parents struggling with family conflict, parenting stress, or concerns about a child or teen. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who have spent years surviving and are now looking for deeper healing, healthier relationships, and a stronger connection to themselves.

She is also trained in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) model, which allows her to thoughtfully and compassionately support clients navigating suicidal thoughts.
Sarah believes that therapy is about more than managing symptoms or “getting through” hard moments—it’s about understanding where pain comes from and creating real, lasting change from the inside out. Sarah works with clients who want to feel more connected to themselves, their relationships, and their lives, even when things feel heavy, confusing, or overwhelming. Sarah brings a grounded, compassionate presence to the therapy room. She understands that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and she strives to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for.

I specialize in suicidal ideation, addiction, trauma, and grief.
I have experience working with people through crisis. I believe the best way that therapy can help is by giving a person a place to step out of their stress, talk through how it affects them, and get tools to better manage the way they approach it.

Life is hard—more often than not, it just doesn’t turn out the way we thought it would. Maybe you’ve experienced trauma, significant losses, or relationship struggles. Maybe you’re stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break or weighed down by an accumulation of “small problems” that now feel overwhelming. Here’s the truth: It’s not you—life is just hard. And therapy helps.

I enjoy working with adolescents as well as adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, responses from trauma, or low self-esteem. It is important for me to get to know my clients so that we can work together to develop a plan on how to improve any issues that may be present. I tailor my approach to counseling based on client need rather than purely diagnosis as every individual responds to treatment differently. I am part of a group practice that has clinicians with a variety of specialties, populations they serve, and availability.

Healing isn’t about being fixed, it’s about feeling understood and supported. I approach therapy as something we do together, with honesty, curiosity, and care. We’ll look at what’s underneath what you’re experiencing while building a space where you can show up as you are without judgment. Vulnerability is part of the process, and so is laughter, both matter here. I value authenticity, respect, and trust, and those values guide how I show up in our work together, while also helping you build insight, strengthen coping, and feel more grounded in your day to day life.

You've talked about it, analyzed it, explained it to therapist after therapist. You're strong on the outside while something underneath is running the show. You're high functioning, yet still feel like something is off. Trauma doesn't live in your words. It lives in your body, in your nervous system, your patterns, the parts of you still trying to protect you from something that already happened. That's why I specialize in approaches that go deeper.

Suicidal Ideation Therapists
How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
