I have helped a lot of clients with sexual addiction, depression, anxiety, anger, grief, church-hurt, and trauma.
I conduct therapy mainly using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on replacing negative thought patterns with healthy ones. I also employ a variety of other techniques and modalities like EMDR, IFS, and Scripture/Prayer Meditation depending on your situation and needs. I am glad to integrate faith and spirituality to the degree you desire!

As a therapist I seek to assist people in discovering the patterns in their life that are problematic, and work with each person in the process of gaining freedom from these obstacles. I believe each person has a purpose for their life, and as they gain greater freedom, they step into more joy, fullness and satisfaction. These patterns and obstacles are often difficult for a person to recognize, and even more problematic to overcome without help. With over 15 years experience, I have the tools and experience to assist you in stepping into a better and more satisfying life.

My life philosophy revolves around bringing loving kindness and acceptance into all parts of my life—including inside the therapeutic space. I believe we are all doing the best with the tools and experiences we were given, and that therapy can bring new meaning to those experiences. As a counselor, it is not my job to tell others how they should be—instead, I am here to accept my clients as they are while holding space for the areas in their lives that they want to change.

Being the “default parent” or holding it all together can feel overwhelming and isolating. I specialize in supporting women—especially moms—who feel stretched thin, exhausted, or unsure of who they are beyond their roles. In our work, you’ll find a space that’s compassionate, nonjudgmental, and tailored to you—whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship stress, or the constant pressure to do it all. Therapy with me is grounded in connection and flexibility: sometimes that looks like laughter, sometimes like tears, and often a mix of both.

Schedule now through my website in my bio! Are you overwhelmed by disturbing intrusive thoughts that seem too terrible to talk about? Do you ever feel powerless to stop looking at pornography? If you identify with any of these struggles, please know that you are not alone and that you can find your way to greater well-being. Opening up about things that you might feel ashamed of or distressed by can be scary, but I believe these struggles deserve to be understood with deep compassion and that facing them head-on is the way forward.

I am here to bring hope to people who are hurting. Every person, made in the image of God, is valuable. My personal mission statement is "to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free", taken from Isaiah 61:1. With compassion, I try to help each person untangle what is often "the web" of their situation and assist them in overcoming difficult circumstances in life. A person may have been abused and feel great stress, despair, and even torment. Regardless of your life story, I believe that with God, there is a clear pathway to a better life.

Nicholas believes that many of the struggles people carry - anxiety, chronic tension, difficulty feeling safe or at ease, or getting stuck in repeating patterns—are not signs that something is wrong with them, but adaptations the nervous system developed in response to past experiences. Therapy becomes a process of gently bringing awareness to these patterns so the body can soften, reorganize, and discover new possibilities.

You don't have to keep carrying this alone. Maybe you're struggling with compulsive sexual behaviors or addiction that's left you feeling trapped in shame and secrecy. Maybe you're healing from betrayal trauma and don't know how to trust yourself, or anyone else. Or perhaps anxiety, depression, or patterns from your past keep pulling you back into the same painful cycles, no matter how hard you try to break free. I get it. The wounds we carry shape how we see ourselves, how we show up in relationships, and how we move through the world. But here's what I know after over 10 years of doing this work: healing is possible.

I assist clients to navigate trauma, manage anxiety, address sexual addiction, develop self-esteem, and resolve marital/couples issues as they move forward.
Are your past experiences or current struggles leading you to lash out, withdraw, make unwise decisions, or disrupt your relationships? Maybe it feels like no matter what you try, you just can't get it right. Life has a (not so funny) way of bringing difficulties that leave us wounded and disconnected. As our pain deepens, we develop coping strategies to numb and protect ourselves. These painful experiences and defense patterns can have long-lasting detrimental effects that deprive us of joy and meaning. However, although painful, these places of darkness can be catalysts to rewrite our story and move us towards healing.

I think of my role as your therapist like the wind that bends the willows at high elevation — helping you grow stronger and more flexible over time. I’m here to support you in building the life you want, always taking care to move at the speed of trust. I’ve worked in wilderness therapy, residential settings, intensive outpatient programs, and private/group practices, and what I’ve learned is that healing happens through genuine connection — between you and me, between you and yourself, and in your community. I focus on collaboration and creating space for honest, sometimes challenging conversations, always with respect and care.

You're a high-achieving man—partner, father, or professional—struggling silently with emotional disconnection, sexual dissatisfaction, porn or sex addiction, or the aftermath of infidelity. You've been called “too nice,” “checked out,” or emotionally unavailable. Underneath, you long for clarity, masculine integrity, and meaningful connection. You may have tried therapy before, but it felt too soft or generic. You’re not here for surface-level change. You want depth, truth, and transformation. I specialize in helping men like you find direction, heal shame, and reclaim inner strength.

You've told yourself it was the last time. Maybe hundreds of times. And yet here you are again — same cycle, same guilt and shame, wondering what's wrong with you and why you can't just stop. You're not broken. But you might be stuck for a reason nobody has looked at yet. I work with men struggling with porn and sex addiction, compulsive sexual behavior, and the deeper layers underneath — the loneliness, the disconnection, the difficulty with real intimacy and vulnerable closeness — men who want genuine connection but keep reaching for something that feels safer, more controllable, and ultimately emptier.

Sexual Addiction Therapists
When should someone seek treatment for sex addiction?
People should seek treatment for sex addiction if they cannot control their sexual thoughts or behaviours to the point that it disrupts their ability to function in daily life, for example by threatening their finances, career, or relationships. This may include spending an excessive amount of time obsessing over sex, planning sex, watching pornography, or masturbating, as well as consistently engaging in risky sexual activities, using sex to escape distressing feelings, or attempting yet failing to control sexual behavior.

What are the most common treatment options for sex addiction?
Psychotherapy is the most common treatment for sex addiction; therapy helps patients better understand their compulsive thoughts and behaviors and develop strategies to manage their desires. Therapy may be supplemented by medications, such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anti-androgens, and the alcohol and substance use medication Naltrexone, as well as support groups, such as 12-step programs.

How long does therapy take for sex addiction?
Recovering from compulsive behavior takes time and effort. There’s no precise timeline for treatment, but research suggests 12 therapy sessions may be enough to see change. Treatment for sexual compulsions requires honesty in therapy, a commitment to understanding triggers and developing coping skills, and potential lifestyle changes such as cutting out alcohol or drugs.

What if sex addiction is left untreated?
Compulsive sexual behavior can have serious repercussions if left unaddressed. For example, if sexual obsessions consume the vast majority of a person’s time, they may lose their job. If they can’t stop paying for sex, their finances may suffer. If they’re dishonest in their relationships, their partner may leave them. If they consistently feel shame, they may struggle with anxiety, depression, or loneliness. Therapy can help people develop the tools to manage sexual thoughts and behaviors that feel uncontrollable.
