Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists in Northglenn, CO
Are you trying hard to "be normal” and "do what you're supposed to do", but left feeling drained, anxious, and deeply unfulfilled from living for the approval of others instead of following your own internal compass? Beginning this journey can kick off a messy unraveling (think less “butterfly emerging” and more “blazing dumpster fire that keeps reigniting”) because unlearning what made up our original foundation can shake everything we built on top of that. But with every collapse will come growth and if you're willing to hold on, you can make it through—and come out stronger, wiser, and more equipped for whatever comes next.

In my decade of experience, I have worked with various concerns. I believe that we develop through life experiences, from traumatic moments to everyday choices, and to feel whole, we need to examine the different parts of ourselves. I concentrate on these aspects by exploring how you create and narrate your life story. I am passionate about working with teens and young adults; however, I am also confident in working with individuals in all stages of life. Additionally, I recognize the impact of trauma in these narratives and believe in the importance of healing from that trauma.

Currently accepting new clients! I firmly believe that therapy can be as simple as a space to discuss and process the weekly challenges in our lives. I also believe that these spaces may also be occupied by individuals that struggle with addiction, self-esteem issues, relational issues, and other personal challenges. As a recovering addict, I understand you and your struggles. I want my clients to know that I am not just "textbook" therapist that is here to throw what I learned in school. But rather, someone with lived experience and a unique understanding of addiction that has been shaped to help others.

Life can feel heavy sometimes, you seem to be plodding along just trying to get through it, or worse, waking up filled with dread at what the day ahead will bring. You struggle to find anything to get excited about or look forward to. It could be that something intangible has shifted and you have lost your sense of hope, optimism, and enthusiasm. Or perhaps a transitional event has occurred; you left a job, changed careers, retired, divorced, your kids grew up and moved away, you experienced the loss of someone close to you, received a life altering medical diagnosis, or a caregiving role has consumed your life.

My primary treatment modalities include CBT, DBT, IFS, and EMDR.
I use client centered and strength based approaches in addition to MI, CBT, DBT, IFS, and EMDR as foundations for my therapeutic processes to relieve anxiety, depression, anger management, PTSD, grief, and other mental health issues. Drawing from Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Experiential and Gestalt approaches, and Internal Family Systems-informed work, I tailor therapy to each client's needs and goals.
I enjoy working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, identity exploration, body image concerns, relationship challenges, family conflict, and life transitions. Many clients feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, disconnection from themselves or others, or overwhelmed by life's demands. Together, we explore how relationships, culture, family experiences, and personal stories shape current struggles while building on existing strengths they already possess. My goal is to help clients deepen self-understanding, strengthen connections, and create meaningful, lasting change.

You may look like you’re functioning on the outside—but inside, something feels off. Anxiety may keep looping, depression may feel heavy and persistent, or relationships may feel more painful or complicated than they should. You might notice yourself stuck in familiar pattern. Over time, this can become exhausting. You might find yourself wondering, “Why do I keep reacting this way?” or “Why can’t I just move on?”—while anxiety, depression, or old relational wounds continue to show up in the present. Efforts to push through, overthink, or “fix” yourself may leave you feeling even more discouraged or alone.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
