parent
, or child(ren). Or, maybe you just need some support with a transition in life. I enjoy working with people from all walks and stages of life and while change is up to you, know that I'm willing to be in your corner along the way.

I take an eclectic, strengths-based approach to treating attachment, trauma, anxiety, depression, challenging behavior issues,
parenting
, existential crises, divorce recovery, and Christian counseling.
Our life’s journey begins the moment our heart begins to beat. Our path is marked by significant people and experiences impacting our attachment, mindset, and worldview. Some are positive and some are painful, both leaving a lasting impression that reflect in our identity, self-esteem, and sense of purpose. I seek to walk alongside my clients as they find meaning in those relationships and experiences. I am considerate of the story my clients have to tell and offer a compassionate space to meet them where they are, and offer an authentic therapeutic relationship.

Seeing your child struggle can be one of the hardest things to endure as a
parent
.
With the rise of social media and all the pressures teens face today, it can be extremely difficult to know how to help when you see your child hurting or struggling. Let's face it, kids are growing up in a different world and in complicated times. Many loving parents want to act, but fail to do so because they either don't know how to help, where to start, or who to trust. This is where I come in. I would love to help you and your family find new solutions, have better communication, and discover a pathway to a stronger relationship as well as a more hopeful future.

Having behavioral issues with your child? I am here to help. When
parenting
or co-
parenting
challenges surface, together we can facilitate productive and open communication within your family. Children are often unable to effectively understand & process confusion, fear, & anger. As life brings challenges, transitions, trauma, & even abuse, they can struggle to cope & negative social behavior occurs. Together, we find positive ways to communicate & release intense feelings. This enhances a child's confidence & frees up emotional energy to build healthy relationships with caregivers & peers.

My personal journey has led me to have a unique perspective in supporting clients, especially through the difficult transitions of faith difficulties/faith loss, divorce, co-
parenting
, and step-families.
The therapeutic relationship has the potential to provide healing and support while offering a hopeful perspective to navigate difficulties and hurtful circumstances. I want to be invited into my clients' lives--to be given the privilege to experience their dreams and fears, joys and sorrows, triumphs and disappointments. I strive to provide a welcoming space for people to explore and make meaning of their relationships and experiences. Clients are given the freedom and safety to change themselves and their outlooks. I am trained in EMDR and feel comfortable working with clients with histories of abuse through a trauma lens.

How's it going? I'm a counselor (LPC). I imagine you've come here because you are an individual, a
parent
of a child or adolescent, or a couple who's looking for a counselor. Why? Maybe you feel like you just can't escape personal feelings of inferiority or the ongoing effects of traumatic events of your past. Your behavior is hurting your relationships, and maybe you aren't even sure why. It could be that your day-to-day activities either stress you out or they no longer bring you meaning or joy. Or, maybe you just want to believe more in yourself and what you offer this world.

The most difficult part of counseling is asking for and admitting that we need help. Sometimes we lack the vocabulary necessary to identify what is wrong, sometimes we feel overwhelmed by stress and struggle, or perhaps we feel invisible and unheard or silenced. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you face these types of difficulties, to help provide clarity in the confusion, comfort in the trouble.

I have walked with people of all ages seeking healing, clarity, and support. Life is a gift and can be filled with magical moments. Life is also complex; sometimes, our challenges become overwhelming and hold us back from truly living. Our experiences, the people we interact with, and our choices shape our perspectives which influence our thoughts and behaviors. Life also throws us curveballs at times that can shake us to the core and reveal unexpected and unknown parts of ourselves. You are here today seeking someone to help you or a loved one and this singular act takes courage; it is a step towards becoming your authentic self.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
