I draw from acceptance based approaches, person centered therapy and motivational interviewing.
Your teenage son with ADHD has shut down, fallen behind, and pulled away. Nothing you've tried has really reached him. You're starting to wonder if it's you. I was that kid. ADHD, struggling through high school, barely getting by. I started at a community college, got treatment for the first time, and went on to earn degrees from two of Florida's most prestigious public universities. Now I work specifically with teenage boys just like him. The goal is a kid who understands himself, stops fighting who he is, and starts figuring out how to actually work with his brain.

I often use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT) in my practice.
You may feel overwhelmed by life transitions, anxiety, trauma, or emotional burnout and wish things felt more manageable. Maybe you’re used to holding it all together for everyone else while feeling exhausted inside. I work with emerging adults (16+), couples, parents, and women-including those navigating the perinatal season-who want to better understand themselves and find steadiness again. I offer a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming space where highly sensitive, and high-achieving clients can slow down, feel truly seen, and learn tools to regulate their nervous system, build resilience, and create more balance in their lives.

We work from the body up — using biofeedback, EMDR, and ACT to retrain the nervous system that's actually running the show.
You can't get out of your own head. The racing thoughts, the second-guessing, the voice that won't stop analyzing every move — it follows you from warm-ups to the starting line to the ride home. You know what you're capable of. But when it counts, something takes over — your chest tightens, your legs won't listen, and your body feels hijacked. Performance anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt don't just hurt your game. They steal the joy that brought you to your sport. That's not a character flaw. That's your nervous system stuck in threat mode. At Summit, we help athletes compete from freedom, not fear.

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT) to help you shift self-critical thoughts, build resilience, and move forward in ways that align with what matters most to you.
When life feels overwhelming, it's not because you're doing it wrong. Do you feel stuck in painful memories or caught in patterns that no amount of talking seems to change? You’re someone who understands your story logically, yet still find yourself triggered, self-critical, or overwhelmed it can impact your relationships, your body, and how you see yourself. I work with women and teen girls through major life transitions to find freedom from old patterns and belief systems that no longer serve. In therapy with me we will laugh and cry and get to the core of what you need.

By integrating ACT, CBT, and Mindfulness—and supporting those undergoing TMS or Ketamine therapies—we focus on the actual mechanics of change.
Let’s face it, if staying exactly the same was working for you, you wouldn’t be scrolling through therapist bios right now. Whether it's PTSD, depression, addiction, anxiety, or just a general sense of "meh," the goal is always the same: Change.

We operate in a judgement free zone where acceptance is priority.
Using evidence-based therapeutic models, clients learn to identify anxious thoughts tied to their core beliefs. By replacing the anxious thoughts with what is true about them, relief from anxiety occurs. I validate people’s experiences while helping them uncover the truth about their inherent value and worth in order to re-frame their problems and discover solutions to them. I focus on what clients believe about themselves and how they shape their behavior emphasizing solutions not problems. Together with the client, we re-frame perceptions in light of discovered truth creating new perceptions that influence our feelings

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
