Centered in the HEART of Loveland, Colorado and licensed in WY, NM, TX, NV, D.C. and FL for Telehealth sessions, I'm a Relationship & AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist. I also offer Ketamine-assisted sessions as an adjunct to therapy for both couples and individuals. Psychedelics provide us a chance to get past the walls and have glimpses into our unconscious, where we can uncover deep-rooted emotional content that hinders us in our daily lives. They also allow us to tap into our innate healing intelligence which guides us to go beyond the limits of our personal identity. In my practice, I offer Transpersonal Healing for Your Soul.

I am a relationship and sex therapist who works with individuals and couples struggling with intimacy issues. At times we face problems in our sex lives that leave us feeling isolated or misunderstood. We may be experiencing a crisis, such as the discovery of an affair or conflict over pornography, or struggles over one partner's loss of interest in sex , or a life transition, such as the addition of a baby, that leads to conflict rather than connection in the bedroom. Whether you are married or single, straight or gay, if you are experiencing sexual problems and/or relationship problems, I can help.

I hold specializations in: Medical Family Therapy which explores the impact of illness on patients and their family systems; Sex Therapy which celebrates sexual exploration and intimacy; and Problematic Sexual Behaviors which addresses the impact of sexual compulsivity on people.
I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups around psychosocial and medical health issues. I am a Colorado and Washington State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. The psychosocial conditions I provide treatment for include: addictions/compulsions, anxiety and depression, abuse and trauma, marriage/relationship issues, health and wellness, spirituality/faith issues, identity development issues, and sexuality . I believe a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to health is the most comprehensive method of treatment.

As I've explored the field of sex therapy , I began to specialize and develop a greater understanding for certain issues.
Even though emotional safety and sexual connection are important parts of every relationship, people are not always taught the skills for creating healthy communication on these subjects. You may have found yourself on this website, hoping someone can teach you this elusive skill. My training and passion for helping partnerships grow in this way may be exactly what you're looking for! Together, we will open the vitally important dialogue around sex / sexuality , practice using new vocabulary around needs, and celebrate a new way of understanding desires, fantasies, and pleasure.

Trained in Family Systems, I work with individuals, couples and families. I am client centered and a bit more directive and goal oriented rather than passive. Your time is valuable. I want to see you get results. I offer clients resources and "exercises" to work on between sessions if you desire or you can simply work in sessions if you are too busy (many of us are!). I respect your background, values, beliefs, ethics, faith and what you bring to the process. We will collaborate in this process. You are the expert on YOU but I will give you ideas to help maximize your process.

My work is based on my passionate belief that we are created for deep and abiding relationships with one another. To be in relationship means to be authentic and be seen for who you are without fear of judgment. It is only within this type of environment that healing can flourish. Exposing brokenness enables me to tenderly walk alongside my clients in order to illicit redemptive restoration in their lives. Joining with clients on their journeys is an honor and privilege that is not taken lightly. Treatment is always tailored to the uniqueness of clients' struggles and strengths, being informed by evidenced based practices.

Healing and growth is not always a linear process. Often, before we can become who we’re meant to be, we first need to unlearn and understand who we’ve been. Erica Laskin believes that being an effective counselor and coach means developing a personalized approach for each individual client. Everyone sees your “perfect” relationship, telling you how lucky you are to have your partner by your side. You smile and nod in agreeance, but behind closed doors, you know the truth: tension, fighting, lack of intimacy, exhaustion with one another, and constant miscommunication. You feel like you are constantly walking on eggshells, never knowing what will lead to the next fight or night in complete silence. You have tried hard to fix these issues but are losing energy, and frankly losing hope.

Sex Therapy

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
