I specialize in utilizing creative interventions and approaches that are tailored to each of my clients, such as art, music and experiential activities alongside traditional talk therapy.
Accepting new clients! Do you think you feel things too deeply? Or that whatever normal is, you are next to it? If so, I can relate! My goal is to create a space where those I work with are not labeling themselves as "the problem," or for them to feel powerless in their big feelings and behavior patterns. Instead of asking why you felt too much or did xyz wrong, we should be asking what you have done right to make it this far. I take an interpersonal and strengths-based approach to therapy. We will first create a relationship then explore your experiences and interactions in order to accomplish your goals and celebrate who you are!

In my practice, I take a holistic, person-centered approach that integrates mindfulness, art therapy, and nature-based practices.
Some days, it feels like you’re just holding it together, and everything else is falling apart. You don’t have to face it alone. I work with adolescents (12+) and adults who seem to manage it all on the outside but feel exhausted, stuck, or disconnected inside. In therapy, you’ll find a steady, relational, reflective space to slow down, be fully seen, and reconnect with your inner strength. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, clarify your goals, cultivate authenticity, encouragement, and empowerment, and create practical ways to move toward a life that feels deeply meaningful, aligned, and fully your own.

As an art therapist and nurse I know that the healing process includes the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of a person all being connected.
Art Therapy: You don't have to be "good at art" in order to grow from it (including stick figures). In creating even the simplest piece of art about your emotions, you have externalized the emotions. From here it is much easier to talk about the emotions as an experience and how to manage them rather than the emotions being seen as permanent or wrong.

Many people come to therapy carrying a sense of pain, disconnection, or unresolved conflict. These struggles can show up in different ways — strained relationships, emotional withdrawal, sudden life changes, or even a subtle but unsettling shift in one’s sense of self. In today’s fast-paced and interconnected world, our inner lives can feel increasingly fragmented. The pressures of work, family, and personal expectations often leave little space to pause, reflect, and reconnect. Over time, this disconnection can lead to anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family conflict, or a painful loss of self-worth.

I offer both counseling and Art Therapy using a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
I strongly believe that YOU are the expert on yourself. That being said, at times it is helpful to have a trained professional to support you in exploring places you may feel stuck in life, unhelpful patterns, and strategies for growing and moving forward.

How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.
Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.
How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.
What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
