I have extensive experience in providing individual and group guidance on the use of many healing approaches (meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, progressive muscle relaxation, and sound healing) coupled with clinical interventions (CBT, DBT , SFBT, ACT and MI).
Ideal clients are those impacted by their symptoms with an awareness of needing to evolve to overcome their daily struggle. As we start our journey at the bottom of the mountain we must understand there are several paths to the top. All of these paths have the potential to lead you to the top to find the view you've been looking for. You're going to choose your path, as with many things in life. I will walk alongside you as we ascend the mountain, meeting daily goals on the way. As we move forward, we'll process the roots, rocks, caves, canyons we traverse. Why do you keep tripping on them? Why are they holding you back?

I have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing along with specializing in OCD and Exposure Response Prevention Therapy and I-CBT.
I have spent my career working with adolescents, young children, and their families. I started my career as a high school English teacher, but quickly realized my passion for mental health and helping adolescents manage their mental health in order to learn and engage fully. Inspired by my teaching experience, I pursued a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and transitioned from the role of classroom teacher to school counselor. I ultimately decided to leave the school system to follow my heart and work full-time for Kairos Wellness Collective.

I draw from knowledge and skills within a variety of evidenced-based therapeutic modalities ( DBT , CBT, SFBT, MI, MBCT) to support preteens, teens, and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addiction, lack of motivation, anger, chronic illness, OCD, and neurodiversity.
Life can present challenges that are difficult to navigate alone; our experiences and relationships, as well as our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors may inhibit us from living and feeling the way we would like to! I aim to support people in navigating life's challenges through providing a warm and caring space for introspection and growth. I create this space by providing genuine empathy, useful education, and appropriate challenges to the people I work with to support them to build towards living their best life.

I use an attachment and trauma-informed lens and use IFS, Emotion Focused Therapy, DBT , Gottman Method, and mind-body approaches.
Is your trauma making it difficult for you to feel stable in your life and relationships? Do you and your partner trigger each other's wounds and feel that it isn't safe to talk about difficult topics as they come up? Perhaps you know communication is difficult in your relationship but you still haven't uncovered the root issues. Trauma shatters us at the core of our being. It can feel so painful to watch the pain that someone inflicted on us destroy the things that matter most to us in life. Your pain doesn't have to rob you of joy and connection. It takes courage to heal, and I am here to support you through this healing process.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

DBT is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
