Growing up I was often called Geek or Nerd because I loved Harry Potter, video games, comic books, and running around with a tree branch in my hand and a sheet wrapped around me like a cloak pretending to cast spells to defend Hogwarts! In short, I was and still am a nerd with a vivid imagination! I strongly believe that everyone is a Nerd about something, and I strive to bring that into the therapeutic space. To me, being a nerd is to have passion, imagination, and connection to something that makes you feel authentically you.

Life's challenges provide great opportunity for growth. Whether you are struggling with past trauma, relationship issues, life transitions or anxiety/depression, my goal is to help you find a strong trust and confidence in yourself and your inner wisdom. Blending traditional and non-traditional approaches to growth and change, we will work to identify and shed beliefs, thoughts and actions that are no longer working, while developing new and effective ways to approach old problems.

I am a very focused and goal-oriented psychologist, with over 20 years of experience. I am trained in a broad range of cognitive behavioral treatment approaches, including ACT. My clients learn to cope with stress, manage depression, and develop better relationships. I quickly identify what clients need to feel better, and work with them to develop a personal "dashboard" of critical factors. We evaluate the success of those individualized goals every week and adjust the treatment plan accordingly.

If you've been contemplating counseling, now is the time! As a Christian Therapist, I believe that God desires so much more for us than we are currently experiencing. If you're feeling heavy, life can be lighter. If you're struggling to see change in your life, a new more peaceful life is possible. Your desires, goals and dreams for life are not selfish, and I believe that Christ calls us to live life to the full. If your life does not feel "full", change is possible. You were meant for more.

With self exploration and support, I believe that it’s possible to find inner harmony in this chaotic world. Together we will explore what is and isn’t working and how you want your life to look and feel. I offer a nonjudgmental, openminded space where clients can explore the different parts of themselves, find their authentic voice, learn how to establish boundaries, ask for what they need and in turn create healthy relationships with themselves and the people in their lives.

Broken relationships, tragic events, deep rejection, and unspeakable abuse all contribute to the unrest and pain in your life. I believe there is hope for healing, reunion with others, and a way to awaken the deep longings and desires of your heart even if the events and people of your past tell you otherwise. I strive for counseling to be a pathway for you to have a life characterized by wholeness, vulnerability, and risk. Although I use the same clinical grid as most counselors, I hold a Christian world view that influences my counseling orientation.

I have been a mental health practitioner for over 25 years. I specialize in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, identity and attachment dynamics. In my experience a common thread observed is the individual's need to be understood, to be accepted as they are, experience long term meaningful connections and to live an authentic vibrant life. Too often we adopt a judgmental inner narrative that is riddled with shame. In therapy I will help you learn to explore yourself and your relationship with others through the eyes of compassion and curiosity.

If you are ready for action, I am the counselor for you. You have thought about your issue for a long time, maybe even tried to solve it yourself, perhaps more than once. It's frustrating repeating the same thing over and over and not knowing how to escape the cycle.

Transformation only happens in relationship. The absence of a relational home for transformation generally leads to superficial temporary changes. We make ourselves stuck by building walls of protection around us, which probably made perfect sense at the time. However, walls of protection eventually become walls of constriction. These walls lead us to the illusion of having no choices in our situation, to the belief that life is happening to us, instead of what is true, that we are living our lives and making choices of how we live life.

People are often drawn to therapy when they are struggling and in pain, when they are in a time of transition, or when they feel themselves to be on the edge of growth. Often these areas overlap. I have been a practicing psychotherapist for decades and I continue to deeply appreciate the journey of healing and discovery that therapy can be. Where are you on your journey? What type of support and connection are you seeking? I make an effort to return calls within 24 hours. Please reach out if you need more information or would like to hear a human voice.

In an increasingly fractured world, it's easy to lose connection with the self and the world around us. The conflicting responsibilities of the home and the workplace often leave us struggling with intimacy, purpose, connection, emotional growth, or a balanced relationship with our partners. As a therapist at one of the nation's leading intensive treatment centers for intimacy disorders, I have helped hundreds of clients from across the country struggling with relationships, trauma, addiction, unhealthy sexual behaviors, self-worth, relationship crisis, and sexual reintegration. I know that long-term healing is possible.

I can best support anyone wanting to better themselves and live a life directed by their values. I will be on the ground floor with my clients supporting the structures that are needed to build life skills, create movement from stuckness and find value where they are feeling hopeless.

Do you feel anxious, confused, and overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life? Do you feel disconnected and lost from yourself and your purpose? As a late in life trans, queer, and neurodivergent human, I understand some of the struggles you may be facing. I know how challenging it can be and I believe this moment holds the potential for incredible transformation. I'd be honored to support you as we explore your challenges and fears together, helping you move toward a place of joy and empowerment. Sometimes, when we’re unsure of the path ahead, we’re given the chance to redefine the one we’re on or create something new altogether.

Adolescence and young adulthood is hard. Period. It is an intense period of growth and change that can bring up so many challenges; challenges with managing the roller coaster of emotions, navigating difficult relationships, forging an identity that feels true and genuine, engaging in your education, and planning your future (to name a few). Having a therapeutic space to feel validated, seen, and supported is immeasurably powerful for anyone, but particularly for adolescents. We can all benefit from a safe space in which to work through whatever challenges we are facing.
