I am currently accepting clients in Colorado via teletherapy! If you feel I might be a good match for you, your relationship, or your
family
, please reach out via email or phone.
Are you feeling that your relationships might need some attention and work? I specialize in couple's therapy and parent/child relationships and can help restore the health of your relationship. In therapy, I hear couples and families describe having low self-esteem and recurring negative emotional experiences within their relationships - which can result in stress, anxiety, depression, infidelity, and other mental health concerns. I help couples and families express and regulate their emotional experiences to increase authentic communication.

Life often presents us with challenges that can make it difficult to find a way back to overall wellness. People enter therapy for a variety of reasons. Maybe you have lost a loved one or a life transition has caused anxiety and stress. Perhaps you or someone you know is struggling with addiction. You might be having a difficult time with self-confidence or depression. Developing skills to find healthy balance within ourselves and with others is needed for stability and happiness.

Although I have been trained in a variety of modalities (EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness,
Family
Systems, etc.
Psychotherapy is not always about focusing on the problems in life but is often more about solution building. Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores your current resources and future hopes – helping you to look forward and use your own strengths to achieve your goals. It works by helping you to overcome problems using solution building concepts to foster change and helping you to develop a set of clear, concise and realistic goals. I help individuals, couples and families find their way again. I am a LGBTQ+ affirming, and gender-affirming therapist.

Does it feel like the situation you are in will never change? I'm here to offer you some hope - with a little guidance and support I believe that it is possible to find harmony in this chaotic world. I specialize in working with youth and their families, as well as folks who haven't found the right therapy 'fit'. I offer a nonjudgmental, openminded and supportive space where clients can explore their inner worlds and
family
systems, find their authentic voices, heal past wounds, establish boundaries, and ask for what they need - in turn creating healthy relationships with themselves and the people in their lives.

School. Friendships. Play. Sleep.
Family
. These are the tasks of childhood. Often when our young children are struggling, we are told to wait, that they will grow out of it or that this phase will pass on its own. Unfortunately that can lead to older children who continue to struggle, only on a bigger stage. We are seeing school avoidance, irritability, isolation, and social difficulties starting at younger and younger ages.

I work from a systemic perspective by exploring the connection between you and the "systems" (
family
, relationships, environments, work, etc) that you are a part of, and understanding how they impact one another.
Are you experiencing a particularly tough season of life? Are you finding it difficult to lean on others because you don't want to "burden" them or think they won't understand? Do you need someone that will hype you up and believe in you when you struggle to believe in yourself? If so, I think I could be a great fit as you therapist! I feel so passionate working with individuals navigating life transitions (life stages, relationships, new ventures, losses, etc) as well as those searching to get to know themselves more and create a greater sense of worth and self compassion.

Although my expertise is with the adolescent population and
family therapy
I am open to working with all populations and welcome the opportunity to treat adults outside the
family
setting.
My passion has been working with people and helping them form healthy relationships with themselves and others. After years of working with emotionally challenged children, exhausted parents,at risk teens and their families, therapy has become a profession as well as a passion.
I have had the privilege to treat the community of Boulder and Metro Denver, and have a huge range of knowledge of and connections with local resources. I have spent my professional experiences constantly being impressed with the amazing transformations that people with real life challenges can and do achieve with the right skills, guidance and dedication.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
