I have experience in helping individuals deal with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, family conflict, stress, anger management , addictions, goal-setting and relationship issues.
As we travel through life we inevitably run into obstacles that challenge our coping skills, our way of life, and even our spiritual faith. Hurdles such as loss of focus, loss of relationships, grief, stress, past and current trauma, depression, and anxiety can seriously challenge our ability to live the life we had imagined and we may lose our way and direction. In our lives we all have suffering, traumas, and grief to endure or be healed from, habits in need of changing, relationships in need of reconciling. My goal is to provide tools and strategies that help people live the lives they had imagined; to heal past wounds.

My specializations include depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management , addiction, men's issues, aging and midlife, sleep and dreams, chronic pain, career, spirituality, and life's meaning and purpose.
I can help you transmute the immense power of your story into positive change in your life. Many psychological, emotional, and spiritual problems boil down to conflicts between our inner world (our goals, desires, loves, aversions, spiritual realizations) and our outer world (demands of family, relationships, career, money, social groups). It's natural to internalize the outer world and externalize the inner world, but that's also the source of many of our troubles. I offer careful, authoritative, compassionate guidance to help you sort this out and right the ship for a healthy, sane, awakened life.

My passion has been working with people and helping them form healthy relationships with themselves and others. After years of working with emotionally challenged children, exhausted parents,at risk teens and their families, therapy has become a profession as well as a passion. I have had the privilege to treat the community of Boulder and Metro Denver, and have a huge range of knowledge of and connections with local resources. I have spent my professional experiences constantly being impressed with the amazing transformations that people with real life challenges can and do achieve with the right skills, guidance and dedication.

Helping clients to not only heal, but also pursue a more fulfilling life is what I love about this work. I work with men, women, and teens. Therapy for men is an area I care deeply about because I know how few of us pursue its benefits, but I've seen how much good it brings to our lives and to those closest to us when we begin to heal. We can't control all of life's circumstances, but when you replace inner conflict with clarity, when you genuinely like yourself and the choices you make, control isn't an illusion you need. Your struggles don't tell the whole story about you. I'm excited to join you in making this your turning point.

Transformation only happens in relationship. The absence of a relational home for transformation generally leads to superficial temporary changes. We make ourselves stuck by building walls of protection around us, which probably made perfect sense at the time. However, walls of protection eventually become walls of constriction. These walls lead us to the illusion of having no choices in our situation, to the belief that life is happening to us, instead of what is true, that we are living our lives and making choices of how we live life.

I am a provider of professional counseling services in the Longmont area, utilizing EMDR therapy and traditional psychotherapy to help with whatever you choose to work on (trauma, PTSD, divorce, relationship issues, substance abuse/dependency, life changes/transitions, depression, anxiety, childhood issues, etc.). I recently relocated from Austin, TX to Longmont. I began my clinical work at Austin Recovery, working with individuals facing addiction and the many issues underlying addictive behaviors. During this work, I developed a strong interest in helping individuals deal with past traumatic experiences and negative life events.

My approach to therapy is person-centered and systemic in nature. I view therapy as an acknowledgment of an internal desire to become more attuned to the way that you experience the world. Therapy can help develop skills that improve functioning for individuals.

Anger Management Therapists
Anger, like all emotions, should be monitored with self-awareness. This can prevent it from spiraling into hostile, aggressive, or violent behavior toward others or oneself.

Support groups for anger management can help people understand anger, identify its triggers, and develop skills to manage their emotions. In groups or individual settings, cognitive restructuring can coach patients to reframe unhealthy, inflammatory thoughts.
