I studied Contemplative Psychotherapy & Buddhist Psychology at Naropa University. I offer a relational, psychospiritual, somatic, and creative approach to this work. If you’re seeking inner development and growth, I would love to assist you on your journey. Sometimes it's hard to see exactly what is causing our suffering when we're so close to it, and having a relationship focused on our personal development can be very impactful. That's how I see this work. Our focus is your well-being, and together we create a relationship container to help you become more aware, compassionate, and true to yourself.

Sometimes people come to therapy because everything feels like too much. Sometimes it is because they keep having the same argument with someone they love and cannot understand how they ended up here again. Sometimes life looks mostly fine from the outside, but inside there is loneliness, exhaustion, resentment, grief, or a quiet sense that they have lost themselves. Therapy offers a chance to slow down and look at what is actually happening in your life.

I believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship to help thaw the frozen places, meet what feels unmeetable, return to ground after crisis, and support deeper connection with self, community, and the life you want. I work with clients holistically, focusing on embodiment and supporting both diving into the depths and stabilizing in the day-to-day. My approach is collaborative and client-centered. First working to build safety and trust in our relationship, I support clients to come into deeper contact with themselves, their emotions, their sense of connection and meaning, and a sense of possibility.

Waitlist for new clients
While I am personally on a Waitlist, my agency is actively accepting new clients! We all face stumbling blocks and challenges as we move toward our goals. My aim is to help you navigate these challenges and reach the goals that matter to you. I recognize that every individual is different and that there is no one right way to support you. Instead we will work together to find the best way to tackle those stumbling blocks. We can use a variety of approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Seeking Safety, etc. I also work with several other clinicians who can offer Family Therapy (based on availability).

I see clients of all ages; however, my main experience is working with adolescents and children.
My approach looks at people holistically concentrating on the interactions between thoughts, emotions, physical wellness, and spirituality. I do not have a cookie cutter approach and understand that life and individuals are complex. The relationship between therapist and client is the driving force for change; therefore my number one goal is to build a strong and supportive alliance. I use play therapy with children and expressive therapies (art and creative writing) with clients of all ages. I enjoy working in creative ways with clients when it is a good fit.

Racing heart, sweating, can't focus, can't sit still. Another fight, another emotional outburst, another sense of failure. To get through life every day can seem like an extra big challenge when you are managing fear, worry, sadness, and confusion. You often feel alone in your struggles and not sure who you can talk to. The solution: To find someone who can listen and help you understand your story, who can guide you to find your own internal power, and who can help you connect with those closest to you. And someone to help you bring all the pieces together toward the common goal of finding joy and connection in your life.

With children, I use Play Therapy, though I utilize imagination and play with children, teens, and adults.
Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, overwhelm, or grief? I believe in each human’s innate ability to heal, and will support you in your unique healing journey— following your capacity to grow, evolve, and make the personal changes you seek while following your inner voice and intuition. I strive to create a warm, safe, compassionate, and grounded space for clients in this process. I blend somatic therapy and talk therapy so that we can connect what you think to what you feel, supporting your healing from the inside out as you listen to your body’s cues, not just your thoughts.

Entering psychotherapy may be one of the hardest and best things you will ever do. It is an act of courage and hope, and contains the implicit belief that you have the power to change your life. It requires a trusting, connected relationship with someone who will understand and not judge. We will figure out together what is blocking you from reaching your potential, and help you get closer to living the vital, rich, fulfilling life you were meant to lead.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
