I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and provide support for adolescents and young adults. I have experience in both clinical and school settings. I have lived in several different states and gained valuable experiences, from working at a private school for students with learning differences in New Jersey, to working as both a middle school counselor in Colorado, and a therapist at a group private practice. Along the way, I have gained experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD and executive functioning.

I enjoy working with children and families. I specialize in divorce, grief/loss counseling, but I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. My first priority is to listen to your needs so that I can fully understand how I can best support you or your family. I am a solution-focused therapist. I believe in working together to resolve the challenges you may face in your life. I look at evidence-based approaches as tools to help you reach your goals. I hope this leads to long-term growth and change. I am also an EMDR trained therapist.

I am offering tele-therapy via Zoom or phone to all who want to be seen during this time, those who are distancing or quarantined. I would be honored to support you during this time of uncertainty. Robert has been practicing therapy and counseling for over 14 years, and is certified Nationally as a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and by the state of Colorado's Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and is actively pursuing his Licensure in Marriage & Family Therapy and Professional Counseling and is a Child & Family Investigator (CFI).

Working as a counselor is the most meaningful work I can imagine, and I feel humbled by the fact that people allow me to become a part of their lives to collaboratively help and support them. Everyone’s path to healing is different and I truly believe you are the expert in your own life, sometimes we just need someone to support us along the journey. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where the needs and challenges of my clients can be understood and addressed. With my multi cultural life experience and background, I incorporate cultural competency and cultural sensitivity to accommodate and respect differences in opinions, values, and attitudes of the minoritized population. I encourage my clients to talk about their experiences in order to gain insights into patterns of negative thinking, identify harmful and behavior patterns.

I like to create a welcoming environment for clients using a casual approach that allows for a client to feel supported. There is no right way to do therapy and I want to collaborate with a client to customize therapy to their needs. I utilize psychoeducation, humor, and therapy techniques to help encourage clients to work towards their individual goals.

Hi, I’m Whitney Cavanah (she/her), a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and Mental Health Clinical Associate at Spectrum Connections Therapy. I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. I have worked with a number of populations including couples (premarital, conflict, and divorce), families, children and teens, mood disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, developmental disorders, neurodivergence, elderly and end-of-life stages, trauma survivors, addiction, chronic illness and autoimmunity, LGBTQIA+, and persons experiencing grief or loss.
