"Play" has always been a place where I feel most alive, whether through physical activity, creativity, or connecting with others. Like so many people, the adventurous culture of Denver stole my heart. My favorite thing to do is play outdoors, preferably with my giant dog and the people I love. I believe that as humans we all crave that sense of playfulness and freedom. I am passionate about supporting others to find their own sense of play to create the life they want. In my practice, I primarily use a modality called
Brainspotting
. It is the most incredible thing I have ever had the privilege of sharing with my clients.

I use somatic-based EMDR, Natural Processing, as a technique to help people. In our lives, there are many ways we get hurt or experience things we do not like. Sometimes this feels inconsequential and sometimes we become aware it is problematic. When we begin to experience difficulties like anxiety, depression, physical symptoms and stress reactions, or emotional intolerance we may decide we want to change. I aim to support people in helping resolve these issues so they can live fully in the present, intentionally.

I can help you with depression and anxiety and relationship difficulties. I work to help people move forward when they feel stuck in unhealthy patterns of feelings and behaviors. My belief is that we all have within us the capacity to flourish if the obstacles to doing that are identified and removed. I like to work with people who are committed to their healing and prepared to risk changing in order to thrive. I have experience helping clients heal from childhood trauma, from grief and loss of all kinds, from constant worry, and from persistent negative ideas about themselves. I consider it a privilege to come alongside you in your journey toward healing and wholeness. Emotional, physical, and spiritual pain are unavoidable parts of that journey, and I believe it is possible to live a full life amidst these challenges. Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself and others, wake up most days in a fog of fear or sadness, are constantly hit with unwelcome memories, or in a season of feeling “stuck.” Please know you are not alone. My greatest hope is for you to bravely explore these feelings (and many more) in order to live more fully into who you were designed to be.

Sometimes life can leave the best of us feeling helpless, unlovable, and lonely. While Western culture promotes emotional independence as a strength, attachment science is discovering the opposite: humans are wired to experience vulnerability in connection with one another. From this evidence-based approach, my first priority is to build a genuine connection with you that fosters openness, trust, and compassion - to provide a safe haven where you can begin to develop curiosity and awareness around patterns that no longer serve you while helping you uncover a more authentic story of you and your place in the world.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.
Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.
How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.
How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
