I am passionate about working with adolescents and young adults who are balancing future dreams with prior adverse experiences, those who have experienced trauma, or those who are navigating the world with neurodiverse needs. As a self-proclaimed ‘business casual goth’ with a neurosparkly brain, I know that resilience and healing look different for every human. In Colorado, I am in network with Kaiser, United, Cigna, and Aetna and Medicaid. In Washington, I am in network with United. Superbill can be provided if you're using another insurance!

I think of the client who’s tired of pretending they’re fine. Maybe they’re grieving, angry, disconnected, or stuck in behaviors that keep hurting their relationships. Many of the people I work with — especially men — haven’t had spaces to be fully honest without feeling judged, weak, or misunderstood. In our work, you won’t be treated as broken, but as a person. I bring honesty, directness, and real conversation to our work. I specialize in challenges men often face, and I welcome anyone ready to build a steadier, more real relationship with themselves and the people they love.

Are you looking for a therapist that is trauma wise and educated to walk alongside you in your healing journey? I meet with any experiencing distress in their life across different ages, socioeconomics, and presenting problems. I am passionate about creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to process the parts of yourself that have been impacted by trauma and harmful experiences through an integrated approach addressing the brain, body, and person as a whole. Mental health services conducted by and for queer BIPOC individuals and communities are scarce as well, and I am honored to provide more accessibility to people like me.

Do you ever feel like you can't seem to find your happy place in life? Like everything you're doing isn't working and you're stuck in a cycle that doesn't work for you? Most of the individuals I work with have struggled in these cycles for some time and are wanting to find a way to build a life they want to live. As a therapist, I help people identify what goals they want to achieve and create a plan to get there.

When I became a counselor I decided that I wanted to understand others suffering and value them as a whole person. Part of my core belief is that each facet of your life and self contribute to your overall health. In the counseling process, I try to explore with you all parts of self and integrate them to restore balance and help you to achieve your goals.

Adults I work with often find they are experts in taking care of everyone around them but feel uncertain how to take care of themselves. They may be "people pleasers" and know, in great detail, what others may need and how to fix things, but struggle to know what they themselves need, how they feel or how to address their own problems.  They may have had traumatic or adverse experiences that impact the way they react and cope in many situations. This often leads to feelings of anger, resentment, exhaustion and neglect of their own needs, with an increase in anxiety, depression, stress, burnout or grief taking over.

If insight alone hasn’t changed your patterns, something deeper is asking to be understood. High functioing anxiety? Disconnected, or stuck in repeating relationship and life patterns? It's crucial to incorporate body, mind and heart to fully develop a strong internal sense of self. I integrate psychotherapy with the Enneagram and yoga therapy to uncover the unconscious patterns driving stress, attachment, and emotional reactivity. Knowing your Enneagram type and subtype often accelerates therapy by revealing why you cope the way you do—so change becomes embodied, precise, and lasting.

If “I’m fine” is doing a lot of heavy lifting lately, you’re not alone. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or quietly carrying more than they want to admit. I offer a warm, trauma-informed space to slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and work toward meaningful change—without pressure to have it all figured out. I believe healing happens in safe, trusting spaces. My approach blends warmth, curiosity, humor, and honesty. I meet clients where they are and move at a pace that feels safe, grounded, and human.

Asking for help can be incredibly difficult. There may be times when we don’t feel like ourselves or are not living how we want to be. Other times we simply feel stuck. My approach to therapy is to join you on exploring if life was better, what would be different. If you’re not sure what that may be, that’s OK too. I take a collaborative, person-centered approach throughout the therapeutic process. This means not having to voyage alone toward what those changes in perspective and actions may be, to feel more congruent to who you are and your values in life.

Suicidal Ideation Therapists
How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
