Things have been difficult for awhile - perhaps on and off throughout your life. You might feel more overwhelmed, anxious, and lonely than ever before. Maybe you are confused about your life’s path - unsure what your true purpose is or how to get there. You might be having trouble in friendships, romance, or navigating difficult family dynamics. Perhaps you struggle with food, body image, or substances. Maybe you have done therapy before and have progressed on your healing journey, but desire to delve deeper. You want to find peace, feel more at ease, to be sure of yourself, and to be able to take in pockets of happiness.

I want therapy to be useful and effective for you. My style is flexible so that neither of us are constrained by specific techniques that might stifle the therapeutic process. I'll be your guide while putting you in the driver's seat. You will gain insights and identify the strengths you may not realize you have. My areas of strength include helping people with addiction, self-esteem issues, making important life choices, familial and romantic relationships. I enjoy working with single parents, parents in blended families and older adults. I like working with individuals so they can feel free of judgment by others in their lives.

Has it become harder to get out of bed and find joy, peace, and happiness throughout your daily routine and relationships? Have you noticed that the past negative experiences or trauma you have endured is controlling your present life? In times of trouble, how do you cope? Depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and relationships can cause us to experience many different emotions on a daily basis. Each day those emotions can leave us feeling very empty and alone which can then lead us to coping in ways that prevent us from being the best versions of ourselves.

My ideal clients are children and adults who feel overwhelmed by life’s transitions or deep-seated wounds. They may be navigating the weight of anxiety and depression, or the specific pain of trauma. These individuals need a safe harbor where they can explore their identity and emotions without judgment. Whether it’s a child struggling to regulate big feelings or an adult trying to reconcile their past with their future, their goal is to find a sense of safety and "wholeness." They want to understand their own internal world so they can move through the external world with more confidence, peace, and resilience.

I am deeply committed to the human capacities for love, hope, and resiliency despite the adversities that befall us. Our therapeutic space will be bold, brave, and supportive. I aim to strike a balance of validating feelings of fragility or fear with a genuine belief in the potential to heal. Maybe you’ve been called “too much” or can’t quite carve the life and relationships that you want, despite an inner knowingness of your innate goodness and loving nature. It may at times feel hopeless, but I say there is hope here! This space is particularly effective for those eager to take a deeper dive into themselves and their most difficult material or Complex Trauma. Additionally, I provide Ketamine (KAP) Therapy Integration and support.

You are feeling alone, unseen, unheard, and you are married or in a relationship. You thought that if you found the right person you wouldn't feel this way—but yet here you are. Somewhere along the way—through stress, conflict, distance, or a rupture—something shifted between you. This is more common than you think, and it can change. You want to feel connected again, to laugh, have fun together, and experience the things that brought you together in the first place. And you want to feel good again.

I believe who you are is not something in need of fixing. When we feel stuck or disconnected, life feels profoundly more stressful. I work with individuals who are finally ready to take that first step on their path towards self discovery or have already begun the process on their own. During our work together, my goal is to establish a meaningful relationship with a shared sense of ownership for your treatment. The greatest predictor of treatment success is the therapeutic alliance between the therapist and client. I connect with my clients through empathy, compassion humor and metaphor.

You might feel like you’re constantly "on," yet stuck in place—battling a brain that won't quiet down, memories that feel too heavy, or relationships that leave you drained. My ideal client is often navigating the invisible weight of ADHD, anxiety, or past trauma while trying to manage major life shifts. You want to stop just "surviving" your days and start feeling grounded. You’re looking for a space where you don't have to filter your reality—a place to understand your patterns, heal your connections, and finally feel like you’re the one in the driver’s seat of your own life.

Psychoanalytic Therapists
Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
