My clients often feel stuck in patterns that leave them overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. They may be navigating anxiety, the effects of trauma, relationship stress, or a season of life that no longer feels aligned. They want relief, clarity, and stronger connection—with themselves, their partner, or their family—but aren’t sure how to get there. Many people I work with are tired of repeating the same cycles and want to understand why they keep showing up.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, uncertain or having difficulty managing emotions? Are you looking for additional support for you or a loved one? Perhaps you're an adult adoptee processing your life experiences, identity and what that all means to you now. We will integrate your thoughts (brain) and felt experience (body/nervous system) to create deeper and more meaningful connections to yourself and others. We can lay out all of the pieces to your puzzle (what makes you, you), then organize them to help make sense of and tend to each one that makes up who you are right now. Come as you are; every part of you is accepted.

I believe that true healing occurs when a human feels authentically seen for who they are, connected to the people around them, and safe in the therapeutic space to begin navigating their inner world. I work with highly sensitive children who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, or emotional intensity. I meet them with steady presence, playfulness, and deep respect for their own pace and process. I am currently accepting child clients (8 and under) through Medicaid or private pay.

I've been working virtually since 2016, and get comments about how easy it is to feel connected and comfortable in video sessions with me. My style is to listen, then provide you with various skills to help you in the present time, which helps you empower your life to align with your best self. I appreciate being humorous and light, and can also be pretty challenging to help you grow. I will not sit back and just nod... I give homework and help you make changes week to week. Our first session will feel different than ongoing sessions: the first is called an Initial Assessment.

Many of the people I work with are reflective, self-aware, and called to something deeper within themselves, yet still feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. They may be navigating trauma, disconnection, burnout, or life transitions that feel overwhelming or disorienting. Often, they want to feel more authentic and whole, to make sense of what they’ve been carrying, and to integrate the experiences that have shaped them. They come to therapy not just for symptom relief, but for connection, clarity, and a more grounded sense of self.

Many people move through periods of emotional pain, trauma, or imbalance, and when you’re in the middle of it, it can feel incredibly isolating. In those moments, having someone who truly listens and understands can make all the difference. I believe everyone deserves a safe, compassionate space where they can show up exactly as they are and feel supported through their most vulnerable experiences.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
