When these root issues are processed, a person often experiences reduced emotional pain, less anxiety, and increased self -esteem.
For 25 years, I have been helping adults recover from trauma and move forward with more hopefulness and zest for life! The transformation process, while difficult at times, is well worth the effort! I enjoy seeing people get free from the effects of trauma, which have often troubled them for years.

I’m a licensed therapist in Colorado and Oregon, and I know how overwhelming anxiety can feel.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including CBT, ERP, and ACT. These approaches not only help reduce the grip of anxiety and intrusive thoughts but also support building lasting resilience. Along the way, I also emphasize self-compassion—because learning to meet yourself with kindness is just as important as learning new skills.

I use cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy; I don't want to just talk about problems, I want to get people up and active and doing something to make changes in their lives. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy as a primary method of treatment - it works quickly and tends to keep folks doing better in the long-run, as well.

Do you find yourself struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or relationship patterns that seem to repeat no matter how hard you try to change them?
I provide trauma-informed therapy for adults seeking to better understand emotional patterns and feel more grounded in their lives and relationships. Our work begins by creating safety, then gently exploring how past experiences shape present responses, while building awareness, emotional regulation, and healthier ways of relating.

I often work with people navigating depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, and low self-esteem.
You’ve read the self-help books. You know the patterns. But that doesn’t stop the spiral when someone doesn’t text back, or the guilt when you finally say no. You’re exhausted from shrinking yourself in relationships, battling a mind that never quiets down, and wondering if you’ll ever feel fully at ease in your own skin. You’re not here for surface-level fixes. You’re ready to do the real work of untangling the deeper stuff.

I am passionate about serving clients of all ages who experience trauma, depression, anxiety and so much more.
Life presents a journey for us all to take! Whether it allows for hills or valleys, we have to decide how each defines our life. Therapy becomes our first step in taking back control and leaning into the joy that comes with healing. Wherever you are on your journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you and conquer what’s to come. You’ve made the difficult decision to no longer allow shame to prevent you from embracing vulnerability. Healing can be difficult, but if given the opportunity, I will hold space for who you are. Not who you have become due to the challenges you’ve faced but who you are at your core.

Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Julie and I am here to meet you where you are at, work with you on things that brought you to this point and what we can do to help it all feel better. I believe that there is not a specific theory or method of therapy that works for everybody or even the same person all the time, and; therefore, tend to be very eclectic in modalities that I use. That being said, I work a lot with trauma-informed modalities, supportive, and person informed modalities, as well as CBT, DBT, and ACT.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
