Mavis Salazar is an interactive, solution-focused registered physiotherapist. Using traditional methods her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. Using traditional and transitional methods, I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression, grief counseling, trauma release to parenting support, adolescent support, domestic relationships, and beyond. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client's individual needs to help attain the personal growth they're striving for.

Beth has been a certified Addictions Counselor for over 27 years and has spent most of her career working with at risk adolescent substance use. She effectively applies her vast experience to those who struggle with drug and alcohol use in the adult community as well. Compassion, integrity, respect, and honesty are at the root of the work she does. Beth skillfully aids her clients in recognizing events, behaviors, and beliefs that trigger substance use and collaborates with them to discover alternative actions that produce healthier, more supportive, and increased positive outcomes.

My name is Michael Heckendorn, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado and a nationally certified counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. I have nearly a decade of experience in the mental health field in a variety of settings, e.g., community mental health, universities, schools, and private practice. I specialize in  adolescent  and young adult complexities, helping people find their footing in often difficult times. Whether it be navigating anxiety or depression, or deciding what to do after a major life transition, I want to walk alongside my clients on their journey.

I do virtual therapy with clients here in Colorado. Most of my clients are seeking assistance in mitigating the stressors in their lives. Family relationships; grief/loss; difficulties with parenting or accepting parenting; substance use; crises of faith...all these issues are present in my practice. Most are looking for direction; someone to help sort through the problem and achieve resolution. They are distressed that they are at odds with family; concerned over the loss of control with substances; and some are wondering about their purpose in the world. These are the people with whom I enjoy working.

My practice is limited to assessment and evaluation, primarily with clients involved in the legal system for some reason. Adolescent age youth and adults are the specialty age groups, in part because adolescents and young adults tend to be involved with the legal system in criminal matters more frequently. My background includes clinical work with adolescents in the Denver Metro area and throughout Colorado. It also includes administrative and clinical work with forensically involved adults. Parents facing termination of parental rights and parents disputing custody structure make up the remainder of my focus and experience.

I am a National Board Certified Counselor and a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for guiding others in unlocking their full potential. I approach the therapeutic relationship with genuine intrigue and compassion, as I believe empathy and curiosity are two of the most important human values and essential for an effective therapeutic experience. I specialize in the areas of family, adolescent , life adjustments, and women-specific therapy. I have a strong background in treating trauma and PTSD . I am fully certified in EMDR. My therapeutic approach lends itself towards working with the client's whole system and outside providers whenever possible. I also frequently work with other therapy providers and "trauma professionals" (military, law enforcement, medical professionals, legal professionals, etc) who struggle at times seeing the beauty in the world beyond the intensity and struggle they're faced with in their jobs.

My primary role as your child's therapist is to collaborate with you and your child/ teen to clearly identify strengths and struggles, and come up with a game plan to build connection, confidence, and stability. I utilize cognitive-behavioral, DBT, and trauma-focused approaches that are proven to reduce depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, and interpersonal conflicts.
