Why psychoanalysis? In a world demanding of standards, success, happiness, etc. -or else you're dysfunctional-, psychoanalysis offers a space where adaptation is not the goal, it does not aim at 'making you normal', the main focus is desire. Causing the ability to respond to desire in a singular manner, yours, constitutes the core of the discipline, the cure happens in addition. A life where desire is present is worth living, analysis is a unique approach to get and stay there. I am an Argentinian psychoanalyst trained in Freudian and Lacanian analysis, an ABD PhD Candidate and doctoral researcher for the University of Buenos Aires.

I work with are adults who look like they're managing and underneath are running on empty. They leaned on overwork, drinking, the internet, numbing, or willpower to hold it together, and it has stopped working. Many are just starting out life, in full swing, or getting older. What they share is a sense they're surviving their life instead of living it. Underneath is usually trauma, grief, or a loss of meaning they've never had room to voice, or time to unpack. I help by slowing things down, getting honest about what isn't working, and building toward a life that feels like yours, not someone else's idea of who you should be.

In a world where social links are easier than never, individuals may still feel disconnected and alone. For adults, this loneliness may stem from lacking the answers to fundamental questions such as "why am I suffering?" or "what would it take to live a more significant life?" For children, this alienation may provoke suffering from a human experience too premature to comprehend. Psychoanalysis provides a unique space, where stigmatization and standardization is lifted to give a new meaning to what constitute a fulfilled existence.

For Lacanian psychoanalysis, everything that distinguishes the human is rooted in and composed of language. Speaking renders the speaker, defining and defiling them. Traumatically, subjects of language - speaking beings, as Lacan defined us - are spoken. Repetitions, inexplicable actions, even physical symptoms have ciphered meanings. As the source of suffering emerges into plain sight, in other words into consciousness, then symptoms speak. Analysts learn to listen to symptoms as partners in the treatment. The meanings of particular symptoms can be deciphered by analysts to the extent that they have themselves been analyzed.

Our thoughts hold a lot of power. When anxious thoughts take over your brain space, it leaves little room for the things you love. Negative self talk and unrealistic perfectionistic tendencies can leave us feeling like we're not enough and fearful of fulfilling our passions. Your confidence, your friendships, your relationship…all of them are impacted by the narrative inside our brains. I’m here to empower you as we work together to uncover things that no longer serve you, so you can regain your freedom and build the life you want.

Looking for a good psychologist is hard and actually finding one is even harder. This is probably because understanding people, why they are struggling, and how to help takes hard work. Real change requires more than any quick fix or simple solution can offer. If you’re continually struggling in life, it might be time to look beyond the surface and explore the root of things. I will work with you in a depth-oriented manner that aims to deepen your self-understanding and create important and lasting change.

Something feels stuck — anxiety that won't end, a depression that dulls everything, or a weight from the past you can't set down. Maybe you sense that old patterns are running your life in ways you can't fully see yet. I work with adults who are ready to look honestly at what's underneath. I see individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma, seeking space to think more deeply about their lives. Together, we work to understand what's driving your struggles — not just manage them.

Ever feel like there is more to this life than the one you've been living? As someone who has felt the gravity and darkness of untapped potential I know what's it's like to be living a life we don't love. The clues are within the depression and/or anxiety - these are our body's brilliantly sane ways of saying "pay attention!" Anyone can have a life that is full of passion, richness, purpose, and they feel joyfully proud to be living. It will take vulnerability, bravery, sacrifices, and perhaps some help to get this life that you love. I'd be deeply honored to be the gentle and firm guide you need to help you create this life.

As far as everyone is concern, "you have an amazing life". "You have a partner who "loves you, gives you the world" or maybe "you are lucky to be single". "You can date whomever you like and not have to answer to anyone". But what if your experience of yourself and your life is completely different from what everyone else sees. What if life does not feel so amazing? What if even though you have a partner, you feel as though you are living separate lives; no joy, no intimacy, no sex, just constant bickering? What if you are tired of being alone, tired of the lack of connection? Tired of not having the relationship you desire?

Teen years, young adult years and lets be honest adult years are full of confusion, exploration and growth. Rather it be struggling with friendships, managing emotions, depression or anxiety symptoms or something unknown these things add extra stressors in this journey, sometimes challenging certain aspects or everything at once. This is where therapy can play a supportive role in exploring these challenges and discovering together what can be most supportive to help you or your teen reach their goals and true potential.

My ideal client has done enough living to know something isn’t working — maybe they can name it, maybe it’s just a persistent weight they can’t shake. They’re not looking for coping strategies or a checklist. They want to actually understand themselves: why they keep ending up in the same patterns, what’s underneath the anxiety or restlessness, what kind of life would actually feel like theirs. Many of the people I work with are men navigating transition — career, relationship, identity, meaning. Guys who are thoughtful, often high-functioning, and quietly exhausted by the gap between how their life looks and how it actually feels.

Life can be a lot of things. Sometimes that's a variety of emotions or thought processes that are far from ideal and moving forward seems impossible. My approach to therapy is that we are collaborators, working toward the resolution you see for yourself.

Psychoanalytic Therapists
Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
