I work with individuals and couples, have led various groups and workshops on topics such as: Caring for aging parents; Women in midlife; Stress Less Life; Self-care; Chronic illness; Couples counseling.
People seek counseling for so many reasons. Though the Covid-19 crisis has shifted priorities and focus for many of us this past year +, there are still many other issues that bring people to counseling, that still need and deserve attention. We can work on whatever you need now, whatever issues feel most urgent to you - families, partners, work, health, money, etc. Always, we'll focus on strengths, options, and possibilities, and decide together how best to move forward. Using a blend of coaching and counseling, we'll work to create your best life possible, both during this difficult time, and going forward.

Through years of education, therapy, and working with women in all stages of life, I've learned that each woman 's path to a fulfilling life is uniquely theirs.
Becoming a mother is the hardest journey, with more complexities than anyone could have prepared you for. The impact on your body, your marriage or relationship, the changes happening within your partner, the differences you may have about how to parent, how you want to mother, and the changes within your extended family. There are constantly evolving and shifting dynamics in this season of life.

Healing begins when we feel supported by another person. I offer Gestalt therapy, with a foundation in Social Justice Counseling. I am acutely aware that power, privilege, and oppression exist at the forefront of all relationships, which is why my work with you will take into account the ways your identity shapes your experience of walking in this world. As a bicultural, trilingual woman , I am passionate about expanding strengths that already exist in you and I am familiar with navigating the confusion of holding various identities.

My training and experience has focused on several areas: supporting women in transition, assisting with relationship dilemmas, helping aging clients and caregivers, and counseling substance abuse clients.
Challenges are a part of life. How we meet those challenges - whether they are our partner relationships, parenting, work, or transitional - determines our contentment with ourselves and our interaction with people in our life. If you are interested in learning more effective skills to assist you in meeting life's challenges, i am excited to facilitate your journey. The journey may be difficult but is always worth the effort. We will utilize your skills, look at your goals, and together develop a plan for success.

I help women find freedom in their relationship with alcohol.
You want more from your life. People around you think you have it together and you have a great life. But they don’t know how anxious you feel, how much you drink or how you never feel good enough. It’s exhausting keeping it all together and it’s time for a change. Maybe you are questioning your drinking or you know something needs to shift because you feel disconnected from who you want to be. Whether you are a gray area drinker, taking a break from drinking or fully in recovery, you are welcome here. It's never too late to begin again!

**I am taking new online clients* Hello - I help women break free from manipulative relationships. We can feel so trapped by toxic coaches, bosses, partners and family members. Many times these people appear to be great, fantastic people and the toxicity is hidden so we feel at fault; we end up feeling crazy. You are going to learn to recognize your own needs and feelings. You will see what behaviors are OK and which ones are abusive. You will forgive yourself for your choices and participation. And you will see that you are not crazy. Your inner voice is correct; your compass points to true North; you will find a way forward.

As a highly sensitive autistic woman , I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent people with oppressed genders by providing a safe haven to unmask and live more authentically.
As a neurodivergent person, moving through a world built for neurotypical people can be an overwhelming and disempowering experience. When social pressure or trauma leads you to mask who you really are, it can lead to depression, anxiety, stress, and/or a sense of not inhabiting or controlling your own body. Sometimes, the more you try to fit in, the more alienated you become from yourself and those around you.

I enjoy working with people who identify as having Autism/on the spectrum, ADHD/neurodiverse, queer, who identify as male, female , or anywhere in between or outside of that binary. We would work well together if: you are hoping to learn, to grow, to experience the present moment, and question your thoughts. I don't believe in pushing people to disclose if they don't want to. I work within a framework of consent and open-heartedness at all times. I want you to feel safe when you are with me and to learn how to hold that space for yourself as well. Please check out my website at mountainmeadowllc.me for more about me.

I am passionate about working with women , couples (including interracial and multicultural couples) and adolescents.
Everyone has seasons in life where they are struggling and need help. I provide a supportive and nonjudgemental space to receive support and healing for anxiety, depression, life changes (such as divorce, birth, marriage, moving, new jobs), loss, trauma, emotional regulation, relationships problems and even general goal setting. I believe the key to life satisfaction is identifying your core values and then working to align your behaviors and decisions with those values.

You’re hurting and struggling to find relief. Maybe you’ve been going in circles —in your mind, heart, or in conflict with your loved one(s)— trying to troubleshoot, only to find yourself in the same painful spot. It feels heavy a burden to bear alone, and you wonder whether the understanding and connection you crave is within reach. “This can’t be all there is for me/us.” Hey… I promise, it’s not. There is more, there is different, there is “lighter.” But there’s no need to take my word for it. I'm here to help you experience this growth for yourself, with encouragement, empathy and humor.

Have you experienced trauma, stress or loss in your life? The answer is yes, we all have a different tolerance for the things life throws at us. Everyday we experience adversities that can add up over our lifetime. Unfortunately, we live in a society that too often has a "forget about it and move on" attitude. I want to help you slow down and really look at how your life journey has impacted your overall mental health. My goal is to create a safe place for you or your child to begin understanding how these stressors are impacting your life. I want to normalize the importance of self awareness, communication and self love.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
