We are living in a world of unknowns creating more stress and anxiety than ever before.
I specialize in EMDR therapy which is used in sorting through small and big traumas, as well as, negative belief systems and cognitive distortions. Our internal thoughts are programmed along the way of life and sometimes they need some tweaking and correcting in order for a person to move in the direction they desire to go.

Why psychoanalysis? In a world demanding of standards, success, happiness, etc. -or else you're dysfunctional-, psychoanalysis offers a space where adaptation is not the goal, it does not aim at 'making you normal', the main focus is desire. Causing the ability to respond to desire in a singular manner, yours, constitutes the core of the discipline, the cure happens in addition. A life where desire is present is worth living, analysis is a unique approach to get and stay there. I am an Argentinian psychoanalyst trained in Freudian and Lacanian analysis, an ABD PhD Candidate and doctoral researcher for the University of Buenos Aires.

I work with people who are highly sensitive, big feelers, caretakers, helping professionals who are experiencing overwhelm, burnout, anxiety/depression, and nervous system disregulation.
Don’t get me wrong, we will still talk. If you want we’ll break down each and every aspect of a situation, identifying any unhelpful beliefs and thought patterns. I'm ready for that. I can listen forever and I love details. But ultimately, getting caught up in thinking is probably what got you here in the first place. What is often needed is to just feel.

Are you able to accept yourself as you are right now, while also committing to change? While you may be seeking therapy to get rid of a problem, what if we turn toward that problem, listen to it, and even notice how it is taking care of you? Ironically, this is how problems seem to shift. You may struggle with your capacity to feel present and authentic in your relationships. These struggles may have roots in what you first learned about love and closeness as a little person. In our work you can learn to embrace, understand, and take good care of this early imprint in your adult relationships.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
