During these transitions people sometimes need someone to help facilitate change, someone to listen without judgment, or voice their thoughts in order to gain a fresh perspective. My experience working in several inpatient hospitals has provided experience that helped me develop and hone effective counseling techniques and become familiar with counseling people of all walks of life. Experience includes: working with active military personnel, couples, struggles with chronic addiction, suicidal thoughts, and psychosis.

This modality is used with PTSD (trauma), but can also be effective for others who wish to make changes that lead to healing, resilience, strength, and wholeness.
Life can be hard. At different times, people seek out therapy when the ways they have used to navigate challenges no longer work. I can help. Sometimes unrealistic and/or unhealthy thoughts and beliefs can get us stuck. I help unwind those thoughts, connect to your inner strength, and find your way back to living life on your own terms. I know that it is not easy to be burdened with depression, anxiety, OCD or trauma. Your performance at work, your relationships, your sleep and even your health can all be affected. You deserve a life that you love. I am dedicated to helping you discover your inner strength in a safe space.

I have worked with adolescents, college students, LGBTQIA+ folx, BIPOC, neurodivergent individuals, and trauma survivors, and welcome individual adult and child clients as well.
I'm accepting new clients. Hello & thanks for being here. Perhaps you don’t entirely feel ‘here’ and different thoughts, sensations, and emotions emerge, or lack thereof, and leave you feeling out of touch with yourself and the world around you. Maybe it’s time to make a new connection. I strive to hold a safe, inclusive environment that bolsters access to your own intrinsic resources. As a queer, sex-positive master’s level somatic therapist, I incorporate acceptance, mindfulness, parts work, and timely humor through a trauma-informed, holistic lens with a humanistic, goal-oriented approach to meet you right where you're at.

I assist my clients to navigate trauma, manage anxiety, address sexual addiction, develop self-esteem, and resolve marital/couples issues as they move forward.
Are your past experiences or current struggles leading you to lash out, withdraw, make unwise decisions, or disrupt your relationships? Maybe it feels like no matter what you try, you just can't get it right. Life has a (not so funny) way of bringing difficulties that leave us wounded and disconnected. As our pain deepens, we develop coping strategies to numb and protect ourselves. These painful experiences and defense patterns can have long-lasting detrimental effects that deprive us of joy and meaning. However, although painful, these places of darkness can be catalysts to rewrite our story and move us towards healing.

My experience includes training in the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model, Certified Clinical Partner Specialist, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained therapist which is designed to help you integrate the traumatic experience in a manner that allows you to recall the memory while remaining calm and at ease.
My practice specializes in partners of an emotional or sexual betrayal which may lead to infidelity. Experiencing betrayal in your marriage is often a devastating, overwhelming and lonely experience. As the betrayed spouse, you may be experiencing an identity crisis leaving you doubting your marriage and yourself.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
