I like to provide an individualized treatment approach to each client that comes through my door. I believe each individual is unique and that the best treatment plan is that which is tailored to each client. I am here to walk with my clients on their path to healing and healthy change. Whether that be providing support, a safe space to talk, challenging one’s self talk, helping one discover their true identity or something else that will provide the support you need while on your healing journey.

My approach with clients is based on balancing acceptance with change. I may draw upon various approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, person-centered, and include psycho-education in areas such as effective communication in relationships, regulation of emotions, and other presenting problems.

Non judgement and unconditional acceptance are the cornerstones of my practice. My strength is looking at each client's issues as opportunities for learning. Body centered education, teaching how emotional feelings become feelings in the body, is emphasized. Learning from my client's current awareness is the goal in any session. My work is non-religious but spiritual. My intention is to have each client lose the need for ongoing therapy. I have been successful in helping hundreds of individuals. I see adults, teens, couples and groups. I have offered Equine assisted therapy as an adjunct to my practice since 1999.

It's my passion to help individuals and couples explore new pathways toward living a more peaceful life led by wisdom and joy. For the past 30 years I've been working in the private and public sectors aiding people experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, addictions, codependency, low self esteem, body image, grief, sleep issues, PTSD, and conflictual relationships. My academic qualifications include studies in Tel-Aviv, Oxford and the USA.

People seek counseling services for various reasons: depression, anxiety, PTSD, Trauma, past sexual and physical abuse, relationship issues (past/present), stress management, grief and loss, and life transitions. I specialize in treating families, children, and individuals.

Darlene Egelhoff is a Somatic, body-centered therapist and uses many innovative interventions and alternative treatment programs including, EMDR, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, Parts Work, and Amino Acid Mental Health Nutrition for the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, radical self discovery, igniting passions, personal, and spiritual growth. Somatic healing is holistic, going beyond traditional talk therapy, to connect heart, mind, body, emotions and spirit. Darlene looks to the body as a wise resource, ally, and guide to tap into the inner healing intelligence we all possess through a holistic perspective.

Making the decision to come to therapy can feel like a big step and my goal is to support parents, who are the experts in their children, learn new skills to support and understand their child. I also support parents in the transition to parenthood with all the joys and challenges it brings. I take a humanistic approach and deeply value and respect the unique strengths that each client and family bring to therapy.

My name is Garland Middleton and I am a Licensed Social Worker and therapist. My work is rooted in the understanding that therapy is a vulnerable and sometimes intimidating journey, unique to each person that comes in my office.
