My name is Garland Middleton and I am a Licensed Social Worker and therapist. My work is rooted in the understanding that therapy is a vulnerable and sometimes intimidating journey, unique to each person that comes in my office. Feeling safe and comfortable with your therapist is the only way to get to a place of self-exploration. Through a collaborative experience with client and therapist, I hope to help one discover a sense of compassion and self-validation, identify and heal past traumas or pain, and nurture a healthy relationship with self and others around them.
Through cognitive behavioral therapy and/or psychodynamic therapy, my hope is to help you better understand your inner workings. By building coping skills, communication styles, healthy boundaries and more, through use of talk therapy, skill building, and mindfulness work, my hope is to provide you with tools and insight for a grounded future.
The first step towards healing is often inviting a sense of kindness and gentleness towards self. Although it can be challenging to take that first step in starting therapy, it is a profound step towards a healthier you. It is truly my privilege to work with each person I encounter, and I do not take it for granted. This journey is for you.
