Instant scheduling available on my website! With 15+ years in mental health, I’ve learned that those who change most aren’t “broken”—they’re curious, ready to learn about themselves, and interested in trying something different. You don’t have to be falling apart to work with me. If you're ready to look at your patterns, experiment with new ways of relating, and collaborate with a co‑pilot rather than a distant expert, I'm your person. I work with individuals ready to go deeper and partners who care but feel stuck.

I believe that all humans have greatness within themselves; it's important to work with a therapist who sees yours (even if you or others do not). I work well with young adults to seniors who are leery about seeking help, feel coaxed in to counseling, or who have had bad experiences in the past. I strive to make you feel comfortable so you can be honest with me - and yourself - about your problems, mood complaints, or substance use. Others tell me they immediately sense my genuineness and non-judgmental character.

I specialize in serving West Laramie, rural communities across Albany County, and nearby western slope, where access services is limited. I feel that the distress we are under is a disconnect between our mind, body, and soul. This disconnect, though well intended can detach our thoughts, feelings, and spiritual connections to create safe but disjointed selves. The most common The challenge of trying to “fill the hole” from the loss trauma can bring is where the work through learning to love and trust again, I tend to find comes from someone or something different. I hope and pray to be a part of that discovery with you.

Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, and finding the right support is an important first step. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are and feel heard, respected, and understood. I work with adolescents and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, life transitions, and substance use concerns. Many of the clients I support feel overwhelmed, disconnected from their emotions, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
