Are you coping with trauma? Was your birth traumatic but you don't want to complain because "it could have been worse?" Have you gone through a rape or abuse and while everyone means well, they just don't get it? Is your mood all over the place and you are tired of feeling this way? Trauma can leave you feeling alone, unsure and frightened; it might be hard on your relationships or you might be avoiding things because of intrusive thoughts or emotions that come up.

Also, I believe through Cognitive Behavioral therapy we can work together to acknowledge irrational thoughts and how to turn your thoughts into positive self-reflection.
Sometimes we just need a space to talk things through with someone who can see things from a different angle. Many of my clients tell me that I help them look at situations in ways they hadn’t considered before—perspectives that challenge them, but in a way that feels supportive, grounding, and productive. You don’t have to be in crisis or have everything figured out to start therapy. Some people come to me because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns they don’t fully understand. Others simply want a place to talk openly, reflect, and gain clarity about their life, relationships, or decisions.

Many will enter therapy thinking, “What have I been doing wrong to get here?” I meet clients and think, “What have you been doing right to make it this far?” Yes, I think a bit backwards, but it’s what allows me to find innovative ways to help clients move forward using their strengths. Individuals, couples, and families who have previously felt stuck in complex issues with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief & loss, adoption, parenting, and relationships report finding relief through embracing their strengths and being reassured that their experience is valid. This helps tap into their innate ability to heal and renew balance.

We believe that connection and community are essential in the world we live in today. We all have a need to feel worthy, worthwhile, wanted, appreciated and loved. Without meaningful connection we often try to silence our pain of disconnection by drugs, alcohol, overeating, social media and much more. Loving ourselves and others, vulnerability, connection and community are essential steps for growth as we navigate life’s journey.

You might feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, relationship stress, or burnout. On the outside you may appear capable or successful, but internally things feel heavy, uncertain, or disconnected. Many people I work with are navigating life transitions, stress from work or relationships, or persistent self-doubt. I often work with men who have had difficulty opening up about mental health, but I welcome adults of all backgrounds who want relief from anxiety, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of direction.

My clients are often emotionally aware people who still feel stuck in the same painful patterns. They may struggle with anxiety, people pleasing, overthinking, conflict avoidance, relationship disconnection, or feeling lost in the needs of others. Many are exhausted from trying to “keep the peace” while quietly disconnecting from themselves. My approach is warm, honest, direct, relational, and solution-focused. Together, we identify the patterns keeping you stuck and build practical tools for healthier communication, self-trust, emotional connection, and lasting change.

The clients I support are complex and have lived individual lives. They have faced their own experiences, and just need a hand exploring their depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem challenges, attachment insecurities, and anything else that weighs heavily for them. In many cases, my clients want to repair relationships within their families and their communities, and must overcome other barriers in order to have healthy relationships.

From there I use CBT, DBT and ACT to help in the moment and a trauma informed approach to help with healing and growth.
Every season of life comes with different stress and hurdles. Those challenges can lead us to feeling overwhelmed or stuck whether that be due to relationship troubles, parenting struggles, new changes in our lives or any other reason. If you have found yourself in a pattern that is not allowing you to grow in the ways you want, I may be the right therapist for you. My clients often come to me when they are emotionally drained and just want to feel better and function better. I am here to walk alongside you and help untangle thoughts and emotions, regardless if you’ve done therapy before or are considering it for the first time.

Using somatic therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, and TF- CBT, I help clients build self-understanding, process difficult experiences, and create lasting change.
As a somatic therapist and AuDHD clinician, I work with adults who feel overwhelmed, burned out, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in survival mode. Many are late-diagnosed ADHD, autistic, or AuDHD adults trying to make sense of sensory overwhelm, emotional regulation challenges, masking, or chronic burnout. Others are navigating trauma, grief, or chronic stress. Together, we explore how your nervous system works, build regulation skills, process difficult experiences, and create a path toward feeling more grounded, connected, and authentically yourself.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
