Hello. You have taken one of the hardest steps by looking into and beginning therapy. I have prior medical experience, but changed career paths in 2001. I am originally from Texas, but have lived in Colorado since 1997. I believe that you are the best historian of your past, and I am a guide to help you walk through your present and into your best future. There is no judgment in my practice, and all are welcome. I do offer spiritual/Christian counseling if this is something you are looking for.

I work with clients who may be coming to me with multiple different concerns, and have a passion for working with individuals who are neurodivergent or think they may be, people who have experienced trauma in their lives, and those who live with chronic illness or chronic pain.
It is easy to feel lost, anxious, and on the outside of life- especially when you are dealing with trauma, chronic health problems, or neurodiversity. Both my personal and professional experience has helped me to understand how frequently these conditions are linked and can help you learn the skills to process your emotions while living in these turbulent times. By curating an individualized safe space and utilizing an eclectic approach, I will help you manage the anxiety that comes with living with these intersectional conditions. We will work together to help you learn to work with your specific needs.

I look forward to empowering clients to explore their strengths, heal from past experiences, gain deeper understanding of their emotions and thought patterns, develop healthy coping skills, and embrace positive change in their lives! I graduated with a BS in Human Development and Family Science in 2015 and completed my MSW in 2019. I began working as a therapist specializing in working with children and teens who had experienced trauma, often alongside their parents and guardians, to promote healing and change in themselves and within their family systems.

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. Starting therapy can be overwhelming, uncertain and isolating, but know we can grow together. Clients who seek my care often find themselves in need of support around slowing down or reconnecting with themselves or loved ones following a difficult time in their lives. I bring a balanced and thoughtful approach to tackling conflict or uncomfortable situations-sometimes when we're in the thick of the forest, we can't see it for the trees.

Hello, and welcome! Are you finding life's challenges pretty overwhelming at times? I've been there, and I understand. I can help you explore those challenges and find the best way for you to address them. Are you at a crossroads in your journey, feeling that there must be more in life for you to experience? I've been helping clients with these and other concerns for over 35 years. I can help with anxiety, depression, gender and sexuality issues, health concerns, and grief and loss. My education and experience as a registered nurse and psychotherapist allows me to provide you with an integrated and holistic approach to whatever you are experiencing in your life. Our emotions and mental status are always intertwined with our physical health and need to be approached as a whole. I also believe that we are more than our mind/body selves. There are aspects to our lives that cannot be explained by traditional studies, and these need to be acknowledged, too.

Hi! My specialty is in trauma and complex trauma. What does that mean? Well, what trauma is to each person is different but there are levels that do take one to severe disruption in their daily lives. This disruption is where I want to help people discover how to define what it is, work to find a way to manage the chaos and emerge with a hope that life can be all that they desire. The person that struggles with this will understand what I am describing and be intrigued to meet with me to see if we are a therapy fit. This holds true in any of the many areas of therapy that I have listed as I have experience and passion to help.

As we transition from our childhood into adulthood, we start to look at different ways to strengthen our relationships, enhance our communication, set effective boundaries, and improve our self-esteem. As we navigate adulthood, we can find things in our paths that bring a wide range of emotions. We are constantly encountering new scenarios, relationships, and challenges that act as catalysts for these deep emotional responses. One of the most compelling and transformative aspects of this journey; however, lies in the conscious effort to understand how these powerful emotions actively shape who we are becoming.

Loving each other shouldn't be this hard...You’re stuck in the same exhausting loop—misunderstandings, arguments, silence. You love your partner, but it feels like you’re speaking different languages. Everything you try seems to make things worse, or lead nowhere at all. You’re both worn down, and the gap is growing. Maybe you're wondering if things will ever feel easy again, or if the relationship is just too far gone. If this sounds familiar lets connect!

When the faith you built your life on begins to shift, the ground can feel unsteady. A faith crisis, religious trauma, or spiritual deconstruction can bring anxiety, grief, identity confusion, and strain in marriages or mixed-faith families. In the middle of this upheaval, there is hope and help. You may feel torn between authenticity and loyalty to loved ones or fear losing community and belonging. Together, we create clarity and emotional relief while rebuilding life — brick by brick — preserving connection, meaning, and integrity.

Chronic Illness Therapists
How does therapy for chronic illness work?
Many people living with a chronic illness may feel they cannot speak honestly about their experience out of embarrassment or fear of being a burden, or because those close to them do not understand, for example, that they may “look good” even if they do not feel good. Therapy sessions are an opportunity to speak openly with someone who knows their symptoms are not in their head and who can offer practical, proven suggestions for managing feelings of grief, shame, or fatigue, such as techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts about symptoms and develop new ways to respond to them, such as distraction or calming breathing practices.

Can therapy help with physical symptoms of chronic illness?
Yes, especially if an individual with chronic illness has developed depression. People with depression are less likely to maintain their health treatment regimens or to take positive steps to manage physical symptoms when they arise, thereby potentially complicating their medical prognosis. Treatment of depression, through talk therapy, medication, or both, will often improve one’s physical state as it eases the emotional burden of illness.

What are the most effective treatment options for chronic illness?
No one living with a chronic illness, or their loved ones, should see depression as an unavoidable result of their condition. Instead, they should actively seek treatment. Research shows that people with depression are less likely to devote the required time and effort to maintaining or monitoring their health, and so therapy to limit the risk of depression can be vital for physical health as well. Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction have been found to help individuals reduce stress and anxiety.

How long does therapy for chronic illness take?
There is no set timeline for therapy for people living with chronic illnesses, but many will see a therapist for a number of weeks or months, typically spanning at least 12 weekly sessions. Some people feel that they experience progress faster than others but even some who quickly feel improvement may continue with sessions for months or years. Some people may benefit from maintenance therapy if their symptoms change or they experience a decline in physical health. Others find that the skills learned in short-term therapy can be used on an ongoing basis, even after therapy has concluded.
