If you feel like this process is a little daunting, I am here to say, it is okay to feel that way, and I am here to make it all a little more manageable for you. Not only are you not alone, but you are also stronger than you know! Working through past traumas, current stressors, or future unknowns can seem overwhelming and exhausting before you even start. Sometimes we just need a space to talk things through with someone who can see things from a different angle. Many of my clients tell me that I help them look at situations in ways they hadn’t considered before—perspectives that challenge them, but in a way that feels supportive, grounding, and productive. You don’t have to be in crisis or have everything figured out to start therapy. Some people come to me because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns they don’t fully understand. Others simply want a place to talk openly, reflect, and gain clarity about their life, relationships, or decisions.

Empowering you to reclaim the narrative surrounding your "why" and rediscovering how you make sense of your life story is my goal. Through a narrative and strength-based approach, I support client's reconstruction of compassionate self-identity and working on building a toolbox of self-regulating skills to aid in managing discomfort in life. The experience of being seen and understood is incredibly valuable in my work to help client's release shame, embarrassment and trauma in the therapy room. Treatment goals include embracing intersectional identities; identifying, labeling and processing emotions; and building confidence.

Waitlist for new clients
I enjoy working with adults and adolescents and have worked with a variety of issues such as: anxiety/ fears, depression, divorce, grief & loss, PTSD, self-esteem, suicidal ideation and family conflict.
It is important to find a counselor that is a good fit for you. While techniques, coping skills and tools have their place, I believe it is the relationship and trust built between the client and the counselor that are the main pathway in achieving insight and change. I would like to help you learn new and healthier ways to view your circumstance and to face the difficult times.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
