There are no "bad" clients. My ideal client is someone who has courage to heal. We can often say we want to change, but the fear of the "unknown" sometimes outweighs the motivation for actual change. I have shifted my approach to assisting in focusing on the motivation instead of changing. Our world is performance based, but I want your shifts to begin because they have been internal and sustaining. You can do this!

I specialize in women-specific and older adolescent therapy. I have a strong background in treating trauma and PTSD. I am fully certified in EMDR. My therapeutic approach lends itself towards working with the client's whole system and outside providers whenever possible. I also frequently work with other therapists and "trauma professionals" (military, law enforcement, medical professionals, legal professionals, etc) who struggle at times seeing the beauty in the world beyond the intensity and struggle they're faced with in their jobs.

I am experienced in working with couples with marital issues and with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, guilt or trauma. I love to work with children (12 and under), and teens (13-19), to provide a therapeutic process that draws forth each client's inner-strength and resilience. In a safe play therapy environment I create space for each client to work through any internal distress hindering them from being freely themselves. I am comfortable working with children who struggle with outburst, withdraw, trauma, social and family issues. Believing each client is unique, the treatment process and pace is tailored to their own needs. I also use non-directive techniques that greatly empower young clients.
