Are you ready to overcome the belief that something is wrong with you? Do you struggle with: low self-esteem, dis-empowerment, creating healthy relationships, setting boundaries, self-compassion, or self-care?
These issues are common in our society today- there is a collective belief that somehow, no matter what we do, we are intrinsically flawed or broken. We have traded the sacred truth of our own experience for self-aggression, self-judgment, and self-loathing, and we feel miserable.

I love the process of getting to know clients and their individual goals. Together we build understanding of how early experiences impact your adult relationships, your nervous system and symptoms you may experience today, and create a plan to address changes you want to see. I have a warm, collaborative style that empowers clients with new knowledge and skills. I particularly enjoy working with altered states of consciousness and spirituality, helping clients have better relationships, and working with other health and psychology professionals.

Beneath your capable exterior lies an ocean of feeling. You navigate with strength while carrying intense emotions that feel both gift and burden. Relationships hit the same wall: your depth is "too much." You've filtered yourself, stayed guarded, and that protection has become a prison. You're tired of feeling alone among people who only know parts of you. When connecting with nature, something shifts - the wilderness recognizes your wild heart. You're not seeking someone to "fix" you or make you "normal." You need a guide who meets your intensity without flinching, who sees your depth not as pathology, but as your soul speaking.

You woke up again from another bad night of sleep. Foggy headed and feeling sick and embarrassed, angry and sad. You keep trying to do the right thing, but it never seems to be enough and it leaves you feeling tired, overwhelmed, and like a burden to people you care about. You wish they were proud of you and that you could make them happy, but you’re afraid that your partner or friends will leave you. Every time you cut yourself off from them with another drink, another hit, you just find yourself more embarrassed by what you’ve done and feel more alone because you think you’re the only one having these struggles. You’re not.

As Mary Oliver wisely wrote, "All eternity is in the moment.”. Our childhood, past experiences, and future hopes all culminate in here and now expressions. Given the time, space, and healthy environment, I believe we all have an intrinsic knowledge of what we need to heal and thrive. With warmth and authenticity, I strive to offer protected and restorative therapeutic experiences, where self-discovery, healing and genuine self-acceptance is possible. While personal growth can feel, at times, overwhelming, my hope is to also weave in a bit of levity and strength-based positivity.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
