Child and Adult Trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, codependency, conflict and anger management, low self esteem and lack of confidence.
Hello! My name is Suzanne and I have been working with clients for over 30 years, facilitating self exploration skills, passion in life, and building self esteem ! We will address thoughts and feelings; some of which may be faulty and were formed from early childhood. We will learn how our reactions can be based on "learned intuitive behaviors," which then cause "fight, flight, and freeze responses." We will develop positive skills to conquer these reactions, for a healthy sense of self confidence, happiness, and personal strength. It's time to love yourself and live to your fullest potential, happy and passionate about life!

I focus on creating a warm and open environment through respect for your dignity and belief in your unique strengths and talents.

Have you ever thought to yourself - "I freeze every time I have to perform". "My nerves always get the best of me". "I need someone to talk to, but I don't want to burden anyone". "I feel sad but I'm not sure why". "I'll never be good enough". Do you relate to any of these statements? You are worthy of a better life and together we can get there.

I work with adults to help them live a more satisfying and connected life. We all move towards heath and I collaborate with my clients' own inner wisdom to encourage this natural movement to find meaning and joy. I use a variety of approaches to meet the client's needs and draw from Humanistic, Cognitive, and Jungian theoretical orientations in my practice to support my clients. I am passionate about working with women to help them recognize their strengths, build self esteem , define boundaries and find a voice. I now offer online scheduling on my website.

I'm most passionate about working with people as they tackle anxiety disorders. I support clients who feel overwhelmed and confused by an internal sense of discord. Anxiety often creates difficulty developing and expressing an authentic sense of self, and low self-esteem both of which can significantly hinder a person's ability to engage comfortably in their life.

Hello and welcome! I specialize in working with individuals and couples who might be struggling with trauma, shame, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem/body image, communication, intimacy, relational/familial conflict, and much more. Your pain lies beneath these patterns and drives your outer world. I will guide you in truly healing the wounds that drive your struggles. You will be able to identify and articulate feelings that are hard to put into words so you can integrate, understand, and externalize the things your body doesn’t need to carry anymore. With this transformation comes self-love, creativity, connection, and more.

My number one priority is for my clients to feel comfortable. I take a laid-back approach that is fairly directive yet very empathic. Psychoeducation and self-esteem work are major parts of my practice as I utilize these tools to empower my clients. I also focus on coping skills and the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors (CBT-focused). I like to be transparent with clients and increase their comfortability by letting my own personality shine through.

I'm an Art Therapist and Transpersonal Counselor. I like to think of it as combining creative processing with soul-centered psychotherapy -- I love helping people transform through images. I counsel people who long for emotional/spiritual clarity and purpose, but feel overwhelmed by fear, shame, and grief. Through art therapy, transpersonal counseling, and EMDR, I support clients through the process of exploring neglected areas of the self, so they can find meaning and direction in their lives. EMDR is an evidence-based treatment approach which can improve self-esteem and process difficult past experience and emotions.

Feeling stuck? Struggling to identify why? or how to navigate through it? How about feeling like the world is closing in or that there isn’t enough time? These are common question that the vast majority of us encounter, and therefore feel the compulsion for quick fixes or to do what worked for someone else expecting the same results. However, to say that we are all the same would be short-sighted, as there is no one way to address an issue. Give me a call for a free consultation, and let's begin the process of creating the "you" that you've envisioned.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
