Have you had one of those times in your life when you feel a massive wave is about to take you under? You are not alone. It is part of our human experience. We can literally feel at times that we are gasping for relief. We call the wave by many names: depression, loneliness, anxiety, anger, fear, conflict, grief, and many others. Whatever its identity, the need for being heard, gathering our strength, learning to cope and applying self-care can be very significant to our lives. Our journeys inward can frequently offer self-discovery and hope, resolution, healing and peace.

Life is filled with hopes and expectations that lead to our greatest joys and deepest pain. The tricky part is that the things we value the most can cause us the greatest pain and suffering. Where there is pain, there can be healing, and where there are ashes, new life can be made. Zach Linder believes that the context of the past, the experience in the present, and the hopes and goals of the future are all essential parts of using our deepest suffering to move into and live our greatest joys. Zach’s clients experience him joining them where they are and walking with them step by step on the journey to where they want to be.

marital
, and more.
Couples often find themselves stuck in old patterns that leave them feeling disconnected and wondering, "How did we get here?" We are each made up of stories/experiences across our lives; I help you and your loved one weave your stories together to find more joy, love, and care from one another. In therapy, you will rebuild your connection by learning how to communicate honestly and effectively, resolve your old problems once and for all, and connect through meaningful moments of mutual understanding. I'll help you find your way back to one another.

"The only way out is through." I am committed to helping my clients discover what it means to truly live fully -- to experience healing in relationships, to understand their strength, to embrace their uniquenesses and to live a life of wholeness and adventure. At the core, I believe that we are relational beings, and while relationships are often the primary sources of our pain, they are also the primary conduits to our healing. Together we will find ways THROUGH the pain and into freedom. There is too much LIFE to be lived...too much adventure to be had...

Regardless of where you find yourself, you deserve to feel supported, understood, and heard. Life brings us so many seasons. Some seasons can be challenging, making us question our purpose and worth. Other seasons feel permanent, leaving us feeling stuck and hopeless. Or maybe we experience a change, forcing us to shift and transition. Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.
How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.
Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.
Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
