My work is based on my passionate belief that we are created for deep and abiding relationships with one another. To be in
relationship
means to be authentic and be seen for who you are without fear of judgment. It is only within this type of environment that healing can flourish. Exposing brokenness enables me to tenderly walk alongside my clients in order to illicit redemptive restoration in their lives. Joining with clients on their journeys is an honor and privilege that is not taken lightly. Treatment is always tailored to the uniqueness of clients' struggles and strengths, being informed by evidenced based practices.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and based in a genuine and caring
relationship
with my clients. During our meetings, we will work together to better understand who you are -- your desires and aspirations, your beliefs and feelings, and the patterns that occur in your relationships. My goal is to help you uncover your true self and live a satisfying and successful life in harmony with who you are. Opening up to a therapist can be an intimidating prospect. As such, I strive to create an atmosphere of safety and connectedness where creativity and humor have a place.

I specialize in working with children (10+), adolescents, individuals,
couples
, and families overcoming mental illness, developmental delay or disability, and life transitions including immigration, family additions, and long-distance moves.
When you decide to come to therapy, you get to be vulnerable and explore the fears and tough feelings that you worry you cannot reveal to the people you love. I understand the need to be vulnerable and have worked to create a safe place for those exploring their fears and feelings. I have a drive for helping individuals discover their self-worth and by assisting those who are determined to overcome life’s most challenging moments; I believe that everyone can heal, grow, and change if the desire is present. It will take time and dedication, but real change is possible.

Hello! I'm glad you made it to my site. If you're struggling with managing stress, worry, panic, hopelessness, low motivation, procrastination, lack of meaning or purpose, low self-esteem, loneliness, or
relationship
problems - then I can help. I offer fully-virtual, individual therapy sessions by the hour, or marathon sessions for those who are interested in doing deeper work. If you've been in therapy before but have wished for a therapist who is more open to feedback or willing to use techniques that are more powerful than simply listening, then I just might be the therapist for you.

You deserve to have someone who will
partner
with you to help you move forward toward the change you wish for.
Throughout our lives, family relationships can bring us great joy and sometimes great stress. These relationships are always complicated. I can help individuals and families navigate the "ups and downs" of everyday life or difficult transitions. Because of years of experience working with pre-teens and adolescents in the schools, I have a special understanding of the unique needs of kids. Everyone in the family deserves to be heard and families who learn to really listen to each other and work on a plan for change, will build lasting, happy memories. I can help you get there.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” –Maya Angelou. Sometimes life deals you a million little paper-cuts, relationships are challenging, our coping mechanisms aren’t helping, and we find ourselves disillusioned and disconnected. You may be dealing with a difficult or destructive marriage, anger and resentment, hurt from the church, relentless anxiety, unprocessed grief, feeling like you're trapped, or struggling with unspoken shadows of the past. Relational conflict feels like a never-ending cycle and you're beginning to wonder if it will ever get better.

My
partner
is an acupuncturist and we also offer integrative sessions for those whom it is appropriate.
I'm an Art Therapist and Transpersonal Counselor. I like to think of it as combining creative processing with soul-centered psychotherapy -- I love helping people transform through images. I counsel people who long for emotional/spiritual clarity and purpose, but feel overwhelmed by fear, shame, and grief. Through art therapy, transpersonal counseling, and EMDR, I support clients through the process of exploring neglected areas of the self, so they can find meaning and direction in their lives. EMDR is an evidence-based treatment approach which can improve self-esteem and process difficult past experience and emotions.

I also hope to join you in your attempt to write each new exciting chapter of your life. Together we can work to create a story that you are proud to call your own!

My style is person-centered, non-judgmental, and

Come, let's sit and chat where you can be heard and seen. "I am sick and tired of being sick and tired." - (Fannie Lou Hamer) ... "I want to feel like I am enough." ... "I don't have any hope." ... "I don't know what to do to feel better." ... These are just a few things I've heard in my career. If this sounds like you, then I'd be happy to walk alongside you in your journey. There are many injustices, microaggressions, and systemic issues that oppress individuals and families, causing anxiety, trauma, and family conflict. Although this can impact your day-to-day life, there is hope and healing available to you.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
