Through utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) thats culturally informed, I help you to identify what matters the most to you and how to align your actions with those values and do so utilizing short term solutions that create immediate, meaningful change.
Life’s transitions can be exhausting, especially when frequent relocations, time away from home, or unpredictable work schedules disrupt your sense of stability. I specialize in helping busy professionals and their families. You may feel disconnected from loved ones, struggling to maintain relationships, or constantly adjusting to new environments. The pressure to juggle responsibilities while keeping everything together can be overwhelming. Deep down, you want balance—a way to manage stress, strengthen relationships, and feel more in control of your life, no matter the circumstances.

Have the experiences that once defined your strength now become sources of struggle? As a veteran, former medic, and first responder myself, I understand the unique challenges faced by those who've served others in high-stress environments. The hypervigilance that kept you alive in the field can become exhausting at home. The compartmentalization that helped you function during crisis can leave you disconnected from loved ones in everyday life. These challenges don't mean you're broken—they're normal responses to abnormal situations.

Trauma, divorce, life transitions, co-parenting issues. You may be experiencing sleep issues, emotional numbness, lack of interest in activities, and lack of energy. Many times there is also guilt associated with any one of these occurrences. With the correct treatment, you don't have to feel this way any longer.

Due to my extensive medical background as a nurse and as a stage IV metastatic breast cancer survivor since 2015, I know the ins and outs of procedures, surgeries, and other conventional practices. I also know a great deal about natural or alternative modalities to help move through this arduous process. I have also been a Christian for over 30 years and have homeschooled three children. I enjoy working with individuals who are keen to learn more about healing, not just mentally, but emotionally, physically, and spiritually. They want the light bulb to come on, and I listen while the client decides how to make impactful changes.

You are pushing through every day, holding on to the last thread of hope that you have. You feel unworthy, unloved, unseen, and unheard. Even when the person you love most is around you, you still feel alone. You isolate yourself in times of stress and try to find resolve in your isolation, but you end up feeling even more lonely. You try to find distractions to keep your thoughts from building, but the distractions don't work. Things keep building up under the surface and the pressure almost feels like it is too much. You feel like you are about to break. Are you ready to make a change and allow yourself the peace that you deserve?

At times, it may seem like recurring emotional challenges are beyond our control. While we may not have had control over difficult life experiences, we do have choice in how we move forward, rebuild, and show up for ourselves. There are many contributing factors that disrupt our ability to feel well. Trying to find a starting point and beginning to understand what makes us feel the way we do requires intentional time, reflection, dedication, and commitment to change. If you’re ready to create change and step into your power to improve your well-being, I’m here to support you.

Every child is born with a different set of strengths, needs, and challenges. Too often, when challenges and needs are significant, people can be made to feel like they are "broken". This could not be further from the truth. I specialize in helping children and adolescents discover their unique learning and developmental needs and strengths as well as helping children and adolescents overcome trauma and anxiety.

I use a variety of clinical approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic, IFS, EMDR, AEDP, and other trauma-focused therapies.
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! Do you ever think to yourself, "What's wrong with me?" or "How come I cannot snap out of it?" Let me tell you, there is nothing wrong with you and you simply cannot snap out of it. There are a lot of social stigmas when we have emotional struggles; we internalize these beliefs. Sometimes, we resist seeking treatment because it can be seen as a weakness because of underlying trauma or experience. This worsens over time whether you are depressed, anxious, fearful, frustrated, resentful, or angry. I believe many of us want to have understanding, support, empathy, and new coping methods.

I operate from the belief that self-awareness, questioning our reality, and choosing to create change in our lives are the keys to living vs. surviving. At the risk of sounding very cheesy, you deserve to feel ALIVE and live a life worth living-whatever that looks like for you. Something brought you here; one of the only things I can confidently predict is that you either desire change or fear it. And since change is constant, often inevitable, and really uncomfortable, it often feels like -ready or not here we go. And you don’t have to navigate that alone.

I’m what some might call a “woo-woo” therapist—deeply attuned to the spiritual and intuitive dimensions of healing—while firmly rooted in the science of what makes therapy effective. At the core of my work is compassionate, regulated presence. With me, you’re not just sitting with a trauma-informed professional, but with a human actively engaged in his own growth, self-awareness, and self-love journey.

Working with me is pretty straightforward: whatever you need to do is what we will do. If you’re not yet sure what that is, that’s ok too. I mainly operate from a solution focused realm where we can collaborate on how to get you functioning in a realistically better place. I don’t believe therapy is a magic wand that one waves over a client where you don’t know what’s going on. You’re the expert on your own life, culture, and existence. I’m here to support that because your lived experience is what matters.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
