Your mind never shuts off. You’ve reflected, Googled coping skills, maybe even been to therapy before. You have insight and awareness, but still feel stuck. You replay conversations, second-guess yourself, and hold yourself to impossibly high standards, yet somehow still feel like you’re not quite “good enough.” From the outside, you seem put together. Internally, you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or just tired of carrying it all. It’s exhausting.

Therapy is not a place to "fix" you. It is a place to make room for your full experience with curiosity, compassion, and learn to accept the parts you may want "fixed". I understand that making space for yourself can feel unfamiliar or even overwhelming; as so many of us are taught to prioritize everything and everyone before ourselves. You are not alone in feeling that setting aside time for yourself may feel unattainable. My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable exactly as you are and help you in reflecting you are just as important as who you may be devoting your time and energy to.

Life transitions and unresolved trauma can make us feel like we have become trapped in our own bodies and unable to escape constant worry, anxiety and guilt. Feeling stuck and unable to explore personal worries can affect our abilities to have healthy social interaction, parenting, and family relationships. Thankfully, there is hope and healing beyond trauma. If you are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, difficulties within relationships, or foster care or adoptive related issues, I can provide a safe, unbiased, and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your concerns and move towards healing.

I draw from Internal Family Systems Therapy (parts work), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, attachment-based practices, and somatic awareness to support healing through both mind and body- helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom.
I understand what it means to be human- to carry both tenderness and pain, to lose your way, and to long for understanding and connection. You may not have the words for it, only a sense that something within you is asking to be known, understood, and cared for. In our work together, I offer a warm presence where all parts of you are welcome. I hold space with deep care, gentle curiosity, and atunement to your pace, honoring both your vulnerability and strength.

Finding the right support shouldn’t be so difficult. It can be really challenging just to identify all of the relevant factors in why we seek treatment. When we are ready to make change because something is not working, there is not always a simple answer or one intervention. Often we need to look from multiple perspectives and approach things in different ways to solve life’s complicated issues. I have extensive experience working with clients, spouses and family members of those with substance issues, narcissistic or antisocial traits. Internal boundaries, expectations and identifying core values is at the heart of this work.

Life has many ups and downs. Some are more challenging than others. Gaining a sense of what is happening, realizing you are not alone, and recognizing that present circumstances don't define your future will lead to positive change. Learning how to manage challenging emotions, developing resilience, and building on strengths can make a difference in how we cope with life transitions and promote self-discovery.  I would like to support you in your healing journey while emphasizing growth and helping you reach your desired goals. Dare to dream and expand your vision of what is possible.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
