Maybe you're in a relationship where conflict is difficult to navigate, and you feel stuck in patterns that leave you feeling frustrated and alone. Perhaps you're ready to heal past wounds and need support building a healthy sense of self. Having a space to talk to someone can help us feel seen, grounded, and ultimately allow us to discover our truest selves.

If you’ve tried talking things through but still feel anxious, irritable, or shut down, your nervous system may be asking for a different kind of support. Trauma, stress, and chronic overwhelm live in the nervous system - and healing often requires more than insight alone. As a somatic psychotherapist, I specialize in body-based psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, and trauma, helping clients learn how to regulate their nervous systems and reconnect with a sense of safety and aliveness. This work is well-suited for clients who are ready to invest in personalized, depth-oriented therapy, and prioritize their emotional health.

You feel stuck. You’re in your head processing everything, all-day, every-day, from your relationships to your work-life. You’re always overthinking, over-analyzing… each conversation and replaying every interaction in your mind. A never-ending loop of anxious thoughts spins through your mind. These thoughts distract you from living your life. You try to do self-care, but you can’t seem to get any relief. Instead, you feel overwhelmed with fear, guilt, and confusion. Self-doubt consumes you. It’s exhausting endlessly second-guessing yourself. Your fear and insecurities overpower you and they’re taking over your life. You feel lost.

Sometimes you feel too much. Sometimes you feel almost nothing at all. Conversations blur, time skips. You nod along, respond, perform - and later, the memory feels hazy, like you weren't fully there. You move through your life presenting as capable, present, and aware, but there are moments where you feel far away from yourself. You've learned to track what's happening around you while losing touch with what's happening inside of you. Parts of you function beautifully, while other parts feel distant, untethered, silenced, or overwhelmed. These responses helped you get through life, and now, they deserve to be understood with care.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
